Producers

If anyone was 2 EVER produce some of Princes songs (or co-produced) who would u like 4 it 2 b?

Personally I would like 2 hear what Prince sounds like singing a Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis composition, even though their styles are different, now that is.

Brian Eno, undoubtedly. The man is a GENIUS.
Hell, he's worked with LOADS of bands/artists I revere - David Bowie, Talking Heads, Roxy Music, U2...
I think I'd prefer to see a collaboration, though; I can't see Prince EVER letting anyone taking production control. Why would he??

Glen Ballard, Bootsy Collins, and Mutt Lange. (I had other producers in mind, but they all imitate Prince anyway).

I just really dig the way Lenny K USED to produce (still does sometimes, I guess)

very raw classic rock-soul

if he could hand the keys to Lenny, and not turn on a single computer, then so be it

Why, thank you!
Two Eno records I recommend: 'Nerve Net' and 'My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts' (with David Byrne). Fantastic!

His book, 'A Year With Swollen Appendices' is also a good read.

I'd like to see P work with the boys from Basement Jaxx...they capture his essence quite well on some of their cuts, and could do amazing things actually working WITH him...

ahhh, to dream...I think it would be so good for P for him to do even one cd with others at the helm, but...it'll never happen sad

I LOVE Basement Jaxx! Felix (the bearded one) is MAD about Prince. He mentioned in an interview that Prince had asked them to remix a 'Rave...' track ('TGRES'?) but they declined as they didn't want to meet one of their idols.

Excellent choice, though!

Eno would be a COOL choice. I read an interview with him a few months ago that asked him who his favourite producer was and he chose...PRINCE!! that would be a good match, if they had equal admiration for each other's work.

It'd be cool to see prince produced by someone with a COMPLETELY different style - like Flood or Nigel Godrich. Both get real 'rich' sounds, but usually in totally different styles.

BTW, who produced the Exodus album - that had a real cool sound, and I don't think it was prince.
