I wonder why he´s doing that these days. I ´d understand it if he only read the lyrics to some obscure, rarely played songs but he even has the lyricbook open when he performs songs that he plays every night. Wonder why, and when did that start ? As far as I recall, he first started uding it during the 1997/98 tours.

Do you realise how hard it is to keep all the songs he plays in his head? He's almost 50, jeez.

prince doesn't cry.

He shows emotion when he's preaching and that's about it.

He has no feelings for other human beings

Musicology concert in Philadelphia, he hadn't done a concert here in 20 years and the audience gave him such a standing ovation he couldn't even start the show he could just make his bows and throw kisses, the audience was cryingand whistleing and calling his name Prince was in tears- I'll remember that the rest of my life. heart

Was this the concert the time opened from him? Was everything going crazy at the end of the show or in the begining?

I was there - that description is dead on it. I couldn't talk the next day from all the screaming I did - even though my crappy seats were toward the rear of the stage so I didn't see Prince much.

Philly Musicology had The Time and Pattie LaBelle. It was crazy from soup to nuts.

OH, and I think, though I've never seen him cry, the old Prince performances used to be REALLY emotional -- like he was intensely connected to the songs and the vibe of the audience.

I don't see that much these days. sad But then, he's playing a lot of songs ad nauseum for those people coming to here the 80s hits.

I sorta remember him looking a bit choked up at some early 90s awards show... He had on some hideous lime green outfit and I think Rosie and Patti did a tribute... I recall his eyes welling up a little.

Was it that awards show on St. Patrick´s Day, ca. 1991 ?

he seemed genuinely touched and a little bit choked up at the 2002 celebration.

i don't think W&L ever had anything to do with that celebration, nor were they planned to, nor were they rumored to be.

Yes, I loved that moment when he said something like : I am many things but one thing I´m not...ungrateful . Thanks for sticking with me through the thick and the thin.

Or when he said : My dad used to say " Change is good!",so I changed...how ya like me now ?

There were many moments were he seemed to be genuinely touched and showed some real emotions on stage....one of the best weeks in my life .
