Have you ever worked with/for Prince? What did he say?

Okay, I'm gonna call some of you out, if you're willing. Have you ever worked with or for Prince on a project or whatever... [No specifics necessary, but please give us the timeframe (e.g. "late '80s")] ...and as you were helping him out, did he ever talk directly to you? Was it strictly business or did he talk about music, spirituality, or ?? [Once again, no specifics necessary, but please feel free to share what you'd like].

Thanks for indulging me. I just might reciprocate the favor. Peace.

I worked for Prince a while back in the early 90s. Everything was very professional, we did what was needed to be done. When it was time for me to go, he told me my money was on the dresser.

Sorry...it was the first thing that came to mind.

After being a Prince fan for over 20yrs I don't think I would not work for the man even thought it's a dream job.

Like all people in his position he is probably a total cunt when he wants to be - and unfortunately he has to be sometimes and has had to be to get where he has.

I would hate to see that side of him and come home thinking he's a prick.

YES..
As a musician..
Not hired by him, But Invited personally by him to come hang out/jam in Mpls for a week..It was the same week as the Rave DVD taping..He was cool with me personally but his "Trained monkeys" got on my nerves..ie: The people that followed him around with walkie talkies even when he was in the privacy of his own studio..and the general WEIRDNESS of having people on staff coming to work like a 9 to 5 job at paisley park yet still not given the permision to say hello or to address him directly..I found that to be very strange..
But, he was cool with me..we even used the bathroom at the same time biggrin ..I was in the mirror checkin myself out and he came in and closed the stall and did his business biggrin ..I must admit when I left MPLS I came back to New York and removed my posters from my wall..The reality of being around him shattered a lot of my fantasies ..
about two years later I put them back up because regardless Of his personal stuff, He's still up there with my other all time hero's..JIMI, SLY, and Stevie !
*no more questions please..thats all I have to add.
Thanks

an acquaintance of mine once worked for prince, the one word she uses to describe him as a person was 'delightful'.

thanks for the reply...
your story reminded me of a friend of mine back in the mid-90s who was flown into MPLS to talk with Prince about a project... he found out this person could play keyboards, so he invited my friend onstage to jam with him and his band... unfortunately it was during one particular "worldly" song that prince gave the cue to do a solo. my friend didn't do too hot. apparently, prince made some witty remark about the lack of keyboard skills. my friend told me "if it was any other song, i could've done it! but not THAT song!" my friend never got another chance to play with him. but i know the two of them used to talk a lot, mainly business but oftentimes spiritual as well. [i was fortunate enough to be in on a few of the conversations]. the two of them used to write e-mails back and forth for a couple years or more, but their friendship ended when prince took off in another direction with yet another project.

thanks again for your reply! i'll share my story a little later

in 2003 i worked for lots of pop/rock concerts like the rolling stones and robbie williams as stage crew.

while working for zz top at brixton academy i spotted prince's jam of the year tour sticker that someone had stuck on the wall 5 years ago with other bands stickers in a dark basement room where the crew hang out.

i felt honoured to be there because five years before i had been at the jam of the year show as a member of the public in the crowd
