LL Cool J and Prince---

So LL steals from Prince on "I'm that Type of Guy" (Oh e o.. from GBABN)and Prince steals from LL on "My Name Is Prince" ("Mama said Knock You Out")

Have they ever talked about one another or been seen together?

Not that I know of but I always did think Prince was referencing him in Dead On It with the Blue Bonnet line, referring 2 the blue kangol he used 2 wear.

I prefer that they leave things as is.

Wow, never made out that blue bonnet line in dead on it. And never occurred to me until now that Mama Said ... and My Name Is Prince sound related. ....
But it always sounded like the "My Name Is Prince'' vocals are aimed to mimic MJ's singing approach, so that's who I associated it with, if anybody.
In-te-rest-ing. lol

that "oh we oh" thing isn't specific to Prince. it's from the Wizard of Oz. and i'm pretty sure other people had used it as a concert chant before Prince.

i'd have to check release dates but it seems like Mama Said by LL precedes Prince's My Name Is by a couple years

Fresh Prince was quoted as saying he wanted to use the witch's guards chant on his album then jumped up when he heard it already on the Prince album, and was like "damn"... this was in 1987.

Dude I'm talking about the rap style and the vibe of the song. "My Name" sounds a lot like "Mama Said Knock....."

On "Ain't No Stopping This", LL says something about robbing Prince of his diamonds and pearls. And I can't quite place the song but one of his tracks seems to mock "Dead On It" at the end.
