"Mr. Goodnight" is totally pointless, uninspired, boring. 1/10
"Planet Earth" nice, great guitar solo, a little cheesy, but ok. 7/10
"Guitar" I like, it rocks. 8/10
"Future baby mama" - Nice song, great vocals. 7/10
"The one U wanna C" I understand why some people hate it, it sounds like Shania Twain. But I still cant stop groovin to it. 7/10
"Somewhere here on earth" fantastic piece of music. 8/10

Guitar - 6.0
Future Baby Mama - 5.0
The One You Wanna See - 4.0

The One You Wanna See has to be the most god-awful dreck Prince has put out in recent memory. When you can describe a Prince song as sounding, not country -- which would be an interesting thing on his part -- but like a Shania Twain song, then you know the man has hit rock bottom. Perhaps the most fluff filled track he's ever put out, which says a lot. Thank god his live shows are still unparalleled because his studio work is D rate at best.

Future Baby Mama is nothing more than a monotonous r and b track with zero imagination and horrific lyrics which makes an attempt to pander to the current market with its title. A complete sham.

Guitar surely will be a great live track and once again proves Prince does not know how to record a rock tune.
No hard feelings.

Maybe I was a bit too harsh giving the song just one point. After a few listens it gets a little better, but still I'm not impressed at all.

Ah, this is easy!

Planet Earth. Too much rehash. Resembles 3 Chains O Gold's sound and template so much it bugs me too much to take seriously. Like another Orger said; it sounds too much like a copy of a copy of a copy and the ink is running out.

PS> I think Barry Manilow may sue Prince over the melody he sings exactly at 2:57 and musically repeats at 3:24; that is, note for note, a rip of Barry Manilow's melody of Could It Be Magic. Maybe Prince is Barry Manilow fan now he has gone Totally Vegas.
Take That covered it; here a link to exactly THAT melody in their version; http://www.last.fm/music/...t+Be+Magic

Guitar. Fun. Joyful. But the lyrics are too lame. Forgetalbe like Black Sweat; fun to hear in the beginning, but not good enough to stick.

Somewhere Here On Earth. This one works well. Of course it gets compared to old Prince work and I read Power Fantastic alot, prob just because of the horn. I love it cuz it is thoughtful in both instrumentation and lyrics. It is the track I love, of the five tracks I heard now.

The One I Wanna C. Prince does The Revolution. Featuring W&L. Ahem. I have to admit it grew a bit on me, but still... too much of it does not work for me. The melody of it just sounds stupid to me, as do the lyrics. Can't get into it. Even though it's got W&L.

Future Baby Mama. The one I haven't been able to listen to much. SO I will reserve my thoughts on it.

Ugh, these knee-jerk critques are so common, amateur and disgustingly self-satisfyingly tangical to personal perception opposed to any definite unmarried truth, but....

Planet Earth - 8
Guitar - 6
Somewhere Here On Earth - 10
The 1 U Wanna C - 8
Mr Goodnight - 6

All subject to change of course.

What I like about what i have heard so far is, i havent heard anything as cringeworthy as Lolita or Love yet,

And Planet Earth the song is no way near as horrific as "3 chains of gold"
as someone above stated.
It is an awsome song that im sure would sound even better live.

FBM is verry cool

Guitar and "The 1 U wanna see" are both good

i havent heard any others

I liked it very much.

Somewhere here on earth is that brand of "intoxicating Prince classic ballad". His vocals there are marvelous. 10/10

Future Baby mamma has some great arrangments, and sounds classic and fresh at the same time. 8.5/10

Planet earth sounds like a strong Power Ballad that Axl Rose would die in joy if he could come up with, in a sense that it does not sound like a 80´s cliche power love ballad. It has a kind of darker mood, with a happy bright bridge. And a screaming great end final solo, these final solo reminds me of Slash in good shape somehow. 9.5/10

The one you wanna see IMO, is a step foward compared his latest pop rock efforts, It maybe is not as good as I could never take the place of your man, but it sure is better than cinnamom girl, so far so pleased, baby knows and most of his lite pop rock songs. Very catchy. 9/10

Guitar is cool but very simple, i hope it flows well with the rest of the album. It would work better with a stronger hook. Great guitar leads. 7.5/10

Mr. Goodnight. Some cool rap, but not as agressive like face down, or days of wild. It´s midtempo and bored me a little bit, need to hear more. 6/10

From the 6 songs i heard i like 5. And from this 5 i like very much 4. The rest of the album will have to be a disaster for me disliking it. I think we will have in our hands the best and most focused Prince album since TGE. I know every single album we hear this same talk (The best since diamonds and pearls, or the best since TGE). But this time it seems it is the truth.

Planet Earth - 8 (just a weird, cool track that triumphs over what should have been a corny protest song...)

Guitar - 7 (Could have been a better track with the same prodution and guitars, but with the previous keyboard-synth drums)

Somewhere Here On Earth - 9 (A beautifully sung song with gorgeous musicianship...Nuff said)

Future Baby Mama - 8 (His best R&B-driven ballad in ages...)

The One U Wanna C - 9 (How could anyone hate this song if they are a fan of stuff like "Delirious," "Raspberry Beret," or "Cream?" To me, this joint is pure fun, jukebox shit...It's the '80s all over again...)

Mr. Goodnight - 2 (The only true clunker...Just stop with the rhyming P...If I want that I'll listen to my OutKast albums...)

Chelsea Rogers--10 (His best "funk" song in ages, but it's really a throwback to the late '70s, disco-era Prince that made "Just As long As We're Together"...Killer bassline and great vocals from that Shelby chick)

All The Midnights In The World--7 (Just think the Bangles' "Manic Monday.." Very overtly sweet joint that may be too sweet for some, but I digs...And the words are among his best a minute...)

Lion Of Judah--8.5 (The title is a fake out y'all...That said, I dig the weird chords and strange vocal phrasing of this track...Then the melodic chorus comes out of nowhere...i likes...)

Resolution--7.5 (Prince at his most earnest and at times corniess...But who cares? By the time the song is over, you actually believe the man...Very emotional track...)

guitar - 3 (poor)
somewhere here on earth - 6/7 (nice voice, nice music, but not focused and too much 'hammy')
the 1 U wanna C - 8 (good timbre, revolution'ones)
future baby mama - 5++ (cut and copy from other 'i hate u' songs)

Planet Earth - Great "epic" P tune. W&L on it? I hope so.
Guitar - I like it. Not rocket science stuff here, just fun. And that's ok.
Future Baby Mama - I thought I wouldn't like it but I do. It always pulls me in. P being P.
The 1 U Wanna C - Great classic P. Simple, yes. Mind-blowing, no. Great song (IMO), yes. W&L prove to me at least, they still matter.
Mr. Goodnight - Early thoughts are not positive. P doing the "quiet storm" thang with "rap-style" vocals. I dunno.

Overall, I dig what I've heard.
Nothing groundbreaking musically, just great songwriting.
And isn't that, one of the things, we dig about P, great songwriting? cool
Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

Planet Earth - 9. Great song
Guitar - 7 Good pop tune. Probably fits well in the album.
Somewhere Here On Earth - 9.5 One of his most sensual ballads ever. The vocal treatment is very well done. Extremely sexy. It's like a mix between something from PARADE and Emancipation.
Future Baby Mama - 8. Standard Prince ballads he can write in his sleep. But the vocals and vibe is smoother than anything he's done in years.
The One U Wanna C - 8 standard pop song. Infectious though. Feel good song
Mr. Goodnight - Haven't heard this one yet. lol

Future Baby Mama - 5. See above
The 1 U Wanna C - 7. Back To The Future
Mr GoodNight- 2 . Mr. Bad Night
Chelsea Rodgers 9. Kicking much ass

I wish I had not heard it because I feel I will be playing this CD for many years to come.
