Ok so there is a debate going on regardiing the sound of 1 U Wanna C.

I have heard comparisons to Never Take the Place...So Far So Pleased

I think both are appropriate more or less.

I decided to pop in So Far and blast it!! This fucker rocks!!! Just a fantastic garage rock record (killer like Cream). It just doesn't work commercially coming from Prince. That song would sound great coming from some 20 year old. Hell he could give that song to Chris Daughtry and it would be a gigantic hit. Incubus would add a great spin to this song.

In another thread I said that 1 U Wanna C is too bubble gum pop too cute...I still stand by that. Its a category that Prince no longer fits into...but since he certainly still can write these songs quite easily he should be giving them to more age appropriate artists

By the way So Far has a ton of bottom in it unlike 1 U Wanna. So Far is very funky..but has that killer pop guitar and keys. Just a killer pop/rock record that no one but this board has ever heard

Damn got So Far So Please blasting on my home theatre system!! I take back what I said earlier in the week 1 U Wanna C while similar in pop style it can not compare in terms of bottom and funkiness

I agree with U here. There are many instances these days when it would have been a good idea to relegate himself to producer status and have someone else sing the tune...just for marketability...if he wants the tune to be heard...if other people sang them, they would b all over the charts.

So Far can't touch 1 U Wanna C with a ten foot pole. It lacks real energy, good guitar solos. To me, So Far is much more bubblegum.
