A friend of mine is really into blues so I wanna impress her with some Prince songs. She has no idea! What would you recommend? Not blues-based rock or pop, but songs along these lines...

The Ride, Ripopgodazippa, Poor Goo, Then There's Lonely, 5 Women, ...what else? Thanks.

Blue

Zanalee, Peach and The Ride are straight blues tracks. The Vault is a bit more jazzy than blues. There are also live tracks like 'Teddy Bear'.

U Got the Look is Blues, so is Kiss. It's the chord progession that makes it a blues. The Ride isn't really a blues, it's a vamp.

U got the look has the blues chord progression but it's not a blues track. I cannot believe people here are saying that U got the look is blues and The Ride is not.

Of course The Ride is a blues track. The 12 bar blues progression certainly isn't the only form of candid blues. The blues scale on itself is a far better giveaway...
