The Slaughterhouse isnt bad as i thought at first...

Not to say its a masterpiece or and i still think some songs are to generic and some beats are too 'plastic' sounding.

But now i have listened to it a few times i think its better then New Power Soul.

Some elements of it (certain sounds he uses, the minimalism on some tracks) are actually quite creative and anarchistic. One song even reminded me of a free floating funky jam by dutch cross-over band "Urban Dance Squad".

It certainly is improving for me.

I think there are a lot of under rated gems on it as well as the Chocolate Invasion. Like the Truth, I think perhapps culling the best off of both would have made for a compelling release.

Maybe thats how we should threat Princes music these days: take three albums, and create your own 'best of' from it... lol

Alltough i havent heard Planet Earth in its entirety yet, i dont think it will be the classic or masterpiece people are hoping for.

But i think it will be possible to ensemble a very good CD from the best tracks on Musicology, 3121 and Planet Earth.

The same idea BTW i have about The Truth, One Nite Alone: piano and vocals, an
some more acoustic, quiter tracks on New Power Soul (The One) and Rave (I love you, but i dont trust you anymore). Combining the best tracks from these albums
would make up for a splendid, acoustic Prince album.

Maybe he should just release less music in these days, and... Let the 'fams' select the final tracklist biggrin mad
