I'm So Proud to Be a Prince Fan Right Now Seriously. I don't care if PE does well or not, if any songs are hits, any of that. But I absolutely love the stuff he's doing right now. Releasing three songs to radio at the same time, giving the album away at concerts and in the Sunday paper, pissing off the industry. All of it is iconolastic and wild in the best way. He's living up to the promise he made in 1985 about causing "much ruckus" as long as he's alive. I don't love everything Prince does, but the events of the past week or two have made me really happy.

You're right. Traditionally tours and concerts have been to promote an album but it appears that Prince has turned this on it's head by using the single and album to promote the O2 & LA concerts by releasing dates for the gigs ahead of the date for the album.
This is innovation! Gazza

I'm proud to be a Prince fan too. He's so wonderful and sexy. If I ever got to meet him, I'd grab him, toss him in the air and hug him.
And after I get up from him slapping me, I'll shake his hand. LOL. I love a Man who:
Wears More Make Up Than Me. Wears Four Inch Stilleto Boots. Changes His Name To An Unpronouncable Symbol. Who Changes His Name Back From An Unpronouncable Symbol. Oh And Most Importantly, Who Is Sexy Little Drop Of Butterscotch

I don't understand how somebody could feel proud, in the sense that it makes themselves feel good about themselves, by what somebody who has absolutely nothing to do wth them does.
at least in sports there is a psychology of community or academic assocition with a teams accomplishmenst that reflects upon a person as a fan, and thus the teams accomplishments are the fans to rejoice as well, but with a musician it is just crazy. additionally, teams are cheered on, which affects their performance, further connecting fans to the teams, but a musician like Prince writes and records and sells his records without any fan interaction whatsoever. and concerts have no outcome that is comparative to a sporting event's, so their is no correlation to a concert and an athletic competition. you are far too obsessed if you personalize Prince to the extent that it makes you feel good about yourself that he does something. this message brought to you by logic.

If you stopped here, you might have a point. Not a good point, but a point nonetheless. But everything you go on to say negates what you just said. dumbass said: at least in sports there is a psychology of community or academic assocition with a teams accomplishmenst that reflects upon a person as a fan, and thus the teams accomplishments are the fans to rejoice as well, but with a musician it is just crazy.
Uh, you're on a Prince fan site. Isn't that a community? dumbass said: additionally, teams are cheered on, which affects their performance, further connecting fans to the teams, but a musician like Prince writes and records and sells his records without any fan interaction whatsoever. and concerts have no outcome that is comparative to a sporting event's, so their is no correlation to a concert and an athletic competition.
There's a huge correlation. Haven't you ever seen a good musician perform? A great musician? A mediocre musician? There's a big difference. Cheering and applauding another human being, in one way or another, for accomplishing something impressive is at the core of almost everything you buy a ticket for--a play, an art show, a movie, a sporting event, and a concert. dumbass said: you are far too obsessed if you personalize Prince to the extent that it makes you feel good about yourself that he does something.

i have a lot more in common with prince than the chicago bears LOL although i love them.i'm little, cute and freaky i just missed out on the musical genuis part LOL. i'm also inconventional cryptic and rebelous and i can relate to a lot of the stupid and smart things the guys does. atheletes may represent a community but with free agency we cant be in love with them like we used to, college is different though. as a lover of boxing i "feel" for certain fighters even though they dont always win.

Some fans are just more obsessed than others ....after 29 years I cannot say I am proud or he is the greatest, he is soo fine, you know all that worship him crap has been over for years. I follow his music and it has been hit and miss for my taste. Youth is wasted on the young .....

I say that I am proud of him, because all of this success is making me feel good. When he was'nt doing that well and people were calling him a hasbeen I still thought he was all that. But now he's proving he's still got it ,it just feel good to know all of the doubters were wrong.I knew it was just a matter of time. He just had to deal with the death of his son, father, mother, and other things in his life like any other human being.
