I just saw that.
Good song, but Tom Jones singing it . That was pretty bad. "The truth is that we don't even know what the world will be like until we shake things up a little bit"

So that's another generation that's going to believe he wrote it "London, i've adopted a name that has no pronounciation.... is that cool with you?"
"YEAH!!!" "Yeah, well then fuck those other fools!"

Tom Jones covered Kiss some time mid 90's. His version is bad.

He made a very good song sung by Prince sound verrrry average today. I bet a lot of people actually think it's a Tom Jones song too. The bad performance was only matched by Status Quo during this concert!!!

I thought it was in the 80's when he brought it out (Tom Jones). That drove me mad at the time, I remember him being on Top of the Pops in Leather pants

I have to admit that when I was a kid I thought it was Tom's song His version was released only a few years after P did it.

Tom Jones is a c***. I was welling up at the end when they played "these are the days of our life" and showing the old footage of Di when she was a kid [Edited 7/1/07 15:07pm]

Tom Jones's version is Kiss is crap. I hate the sound of Tom Jones's vocals, even on his own songs.

Omg, I almost had a fit when Tom Jones started singing "Kiss". I was paying attention until I heard the little guitar riff that starts the song. (tinga, tinga, tinga, tinga...)
I was mortified. He ruined the song. He absolutely slaughtered it. It was a bloodbath! I almost cried. I kept expecting Prince to come out and do half the song, or beat the shit outta TJ with his Hohner. It was a catastrophe. How in the hell did Tom Jones get a recording contract anyway? A dog being squished by an 18 wheeler would make a better sound that than screeching and caterwalling Tom was doing. I love a Man who:

anyone who thinks Tom's version was good should have P's performance of hes own song at the Rock n Roll hall of fame played to them!

Tom Jones did a cover of Kiss in the 90's indeed with "Art of Noise" which band was very interested in electronic binary beats... let's say electro-dance music...
Well, they were interested in ...but not so interesting !

Well, they were interested in ...but not so interesting ! 1988, I believe. Tom Jones murdered it yesterday. But'Kiss' got away lightly after what he did to 'I Bet You Look Good on the Dance Floor'.

To be honest i was very dissapointed with Tom Jones set.
He gets to play 3 songs and he chooses 3 cover versions. If I was a Tom Jones fan i would have been very pissed off. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

i still like his recorded version I think the ladies have always liked Tom(god knows why as it looks like he has pubes growing on his head), but that aside he seems to take full credit for that song in an interview with him he said "Diana liked that song alot so thats why i said id do it", but i have never once heard him mention Prince. Anyway Jones makes a habit of pinching other peoples material, hell his last album was basically all covers. Still tho i think the ladies still like throwing their knickers at him and he is pushing 70 so all power to him

I've never liked Tom Jones, he makes me want to vomit Never heard his version until last night and I was so angry. Then to add insult to injury he had the nerve to cover Arctic Monkey's who are one of my favourite bands ever. I couldn't bring myself to watch anymore so for the only time throughout the entire concert I had to turn over.
