I started this topic after trying to answer someone else's topic about the lyrics.
Yet...., no one has posted their interpretation of the lyrics played backward. I think we are all in agreement the lyrics played forward don't make sense. I seriously doubt Prince is a fisherman and knows anything about "thunder" bait. I just ask one thing: Someone post their interpration of the lyrical lines backward. Much more interesting than a fisherman who is blind with a spell. | |

Analysis is fun! I'd certainly be shocked if these words (fisherman, concubine, blind man) that you point out were not floating around in his subconscious at the time this song was being composed.
