Despite being a good song, I also think it's interesting. Who would put a slapped bass into such a pop/rock/country song? I wouldn't want to compare it to older Prince tunes, either. Yeah, I'm looking forward to the album. | |

The catchiest, most radio-friendly song Prince has written in 15 years. Really like the arrangement and the chorus is sing-along ready. This CD might just be pretty wonderful.
Think "When U Were Mine" and "I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man", instead of "Damned If I Do" and "So Far So Pleased". It belongs more with the first group. "If U wanna get creamy, I'm the one U wanna C" | |

Interesting lyrics! I like the 1st verse where he syays he needs to cut to the chase(not in those words) and so the verse ends real quick...to an even Longer Chorus...I like that...U know it was on purpose...the other versus are longer... | |

I'm frankly floored that the early reviewers weren't loving this. It's hands-down the most fun song he's done in decades. I love the little uptick he does with his voice on his chorus, the handclaps, the bass, the backups. Pure pop heaven. | |

Well, I myself believe that Prince has never sounded as natural as he does on those two tracks...And judging from the airplay that "Future Baby Mama" has been receiving (What's interesting is its getting play on the younger aimed Urban super station and not just the adult contempoary stations like "Call My Name" was..) it seems like he has found his songwriting stroke again... I played both songs for some folks that like the Controversy-1999-Purple Rain eras and nothing else...And they dug both tracks...In fact they were surprised at how "young" Prince sounded...Don't sleep on those tracks...
