If I get another copy of 3121, I'm gonna use it as a missile at the aftershow, and the motherfucker better duck!

Durring the musicology tour prince gave away a cd with each ticket.
And each cd givin away was counted as a record sale. Wich put his allbum way up on the Billboard/soundscan..what ever u call it. Prince had a #1 Record and it wasnt even out yet Well the people at soundscan/billboard.. Who ever does the count made a New rulling (because of prince cheating) If an artist want to give a cd away with tickets.. and want them to be counted (in scans) They must give the costomer a choice Buy a ticket with a cd included (at a higher price) Or A Ticket alone so they might not have to give u any thing [Edited 6/28/07 5:49am]

Housequake are saying that it will be given away in the UK with a Sunday newspaper.
Can you imagine that this counted towards sales! 4 million copies of the CD out there.. Brilliant marketing ploy. Album will debut at number 1. Millions of people potentially could hear his new CD.

WOW! could this be true?? I know he wanted to do a similar thing with an acoustic album (the truth, I believe) and give that away with a magazine, but he had trouble.

Well he had (at least) over thirty songs recorded. It surprised me that it was only 10 songs after knowing this. "He's a musician's musician..."

OK, I can see this happening. He was prepared to give up to 400,000 copies away for free anyway, in the UK. So it COULD be possible that, the feeling is that not many more than that amount will sell in the first couple of months anyway, going on previous record sales. So perfect promotion for the upcoming gigs and a great way to get people listening, who would never have bought a Prince record. Good boost for him in the long run, and get him seen in a 'good light'

agreed. in addition. I beleive anyone who preordered is probably gonna get a "different" version of the CD. This would make their CD's rare.. it would encourage us to pre-order next time.. I also beleive there is a little bit of "lets see what people think of it", pull the plug and re-issue type of thing. I think the general message is that "Guitar" and "Future Baby" are OK, but there are some weaker songs on the CD... He will probably either remove them or add other songs as 10 songs was always a little short...

.....this is not the reason for the delay..G....i call this CONFUSION...this is not surprising from Prince....But in the end if you'r right..so ...we can xpect something more than 10 songs

In all likelihood, this is related to a scheduling or manufacturing situation, a change in Columbia's release strategy or some other business related issue. IMO, there's virtually no chance that the album's content has anything to do with what's going on.

looks like it's a lot more serious for the U.K.

Yeah , I find it odd that all of a sudden this FUTURE BABY MAMA is being pushed heavily here in the states and radio is picking it up.
Odd, because this whole time GUITAR was where all the promtion was being geared to. Maybe its because this whole Verizon / Guitar thing isnt panning out like they thought it would (at least here in the US) . Its getting no radio attention since being released to radio on 6/11. Looks like they are changing strategy. [Edited 6/28/07 7:15am]

May well be nothing at all, but some things don't add up. And some of the speculation is interesting, when you think of the possibilities

Right. COMPLETELY cancelling the album in the UK would be a stupid move from the record company.

Sony UK have cancelled their contract with Prince in support of retailers, because of the newspaper giveaway.
That's why it's no longer showing up on UK retail sites. "Half of what I say is meaningless; but I say it so that the other half may reach you." - Kahlil Gibran
