Prince is losing ground because he doesn't commissioning remixes!

It's really lack of business...Prince could have maxed out is domination on the dancefloor by doing this...the last maxi-single was The greatest romance ever sold...in 1999

I agree, a few hot remixes would be nice, we don't even get b-sides any more!

The idea of remix bores me. What happened to just having a good song? "we cant play this record on our station unless it has an inferior 125bpm thrown under it".

It's a shame that some people always see remixes has a gay thing.

Prince has to understand that he is almost 50. He is not considered ´cool´ for younger audiences, who will prefer to dance to Justin or Beyonce.

Prince keeps on trying to have a hit again with stuff like ´Guitar´. Ok, not bad, but it´s a very classic rock.

Personally I would prefer if Prince stopped caring about being a pop star and focused on introspective good music. But, IF he really wants it so bad, it would be nice if he allowed great DJs to remix his music. Or learn how to do it today.

For example Black Sweat had imense potential of becoming a dancefloor smash.

Several people that I played the song remarked that it would be massive if it had been remix.

Radio here in Portugal doesn't play Prince because of the fact that Prince dresses in a very not-manly fashion

Prince has never really been big on commissioned remixes, at least compared to a lot of his contemporaries (look at the millions of Madge mixes there are).

It's a shame I guess, same goes for the lack of extended mixes these days.

Remember Gett Off? That song was HUGE in large part because of the number of remixes available for clubs (and regular listeners). Prince was the best at Maxi-Singles for a while -- starting with Thieves in the Temple and going through Space, to The Holy River, to Face Down, to TGRES.

Now he's so damn nuts, he views each song as a child that should not be tampered with. Give me a break. Oh how I miss the days of looking forward to a great remix -- remember "The Good Life" maxi-single? That's how you keep your music fresh and your audience guessing. No one would've expected the Big City Remix!

The TGRES remix wasn´t really my thing. The I Hate U remix was killer, even much better than the original, very passionate and heartfelt and it had a great bassline and original lyrics . The Come On remix was probably the last really interesting maxi single, he hasn´t really released a lot of remixes since then .

I wonder what the Space rock version would have sounded like if he had put in on the Space maxi single.

People as old if not older than Prince have had huge dance hits in recent years...think Madonna, Annie Lennox, Cher, etc.

The 'Mustang Mix' (TMBGITW) & 'Universal Love' (Space) remixes were the last to good remixes I've heard. The remixes for 'Come On' were pretty cool too.

There have been several songs from the last 2 albums begging to be remixed. Hell, if nothing more than an "extended remix". "Musicoogy" and "Black Sweat" in particular. It's really a shame that there was nothing like that for those 2.
