The thing about the tamborines is during the ONA shows I went to Prince's people had a box full of small percussion instruments, maracas, shaky, rattly type things which they handed out to people in the front so if you wanna blame anyone blame Prince | |

I doubt Prince will ever allow taping at his shows, because he's too much of a control freak. (FWIW, I admit that I'm a control freak too!) Remember back in 1997 when he released an "official bootleg" tape containing live recordings of "Jam of the Year" and "Face Down" from a concert in NYC? Many folks wondered why he didn't just release the entire concert. Well, supposedly the original plan was to release the whole show, but Prince was unhappy with how some of the songs turned out. It's too bad, because I think Prince could destroy the market for "professional" bootleg releases (e.g., Thunderball) if he'd allow his fans to record and trade shows. But as I said, don't hold your breath. Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position. |
