What do you think?

A) It is such a mediocre and unrewarding album, that the few people who have acces to it, dont feel the need to spread it over the internet?

b) Prince, the control-freak, was so pissed about the 3121 album leaking so soon, that he has taken a lot of action to prevend his new album from leaking.

c) The album isnt yet pressed and distributed (massively), only a few executives from BMG own copies.

d) Judging to the pseudo-cryptism on his site 3121.com Prince has installed a new manager who uses the excitement among the fans to let this new album 'sneak in' slowly and gradually.

IMO its a combination of B, C and D, and i surely hope its not a matter of A.

Well it certainly ain't A.

It doesn't matter what the quality of the music is like, if there's excitement about it, someone will be wanting to leak it.

I would love it to not leak so it would be a surprise to everybody come release day. That's not going to happen though and it's almost sure to leak before the CD's release, but I think people forget that leaks don't have timetables.

I seriously don´t understand all the hoopla about leaking albums...sure, leaked albums do damage to the industry but Prince fans are gonna get the real deal as soon as it comes out anyway. This is Prince we´re talking about , his demographic target group is between 25 and 55. Same with bootlegs...even if all the vault stuff were bootlegged, folks would still buy the real deal as soon as Prince releases it.

Well usually at listening parties and press advances, NO ONE leaves with the disc, there is one cd, they play it, critique it, and then go home and then whoever played the disc, which is obviously someone in the Prince camp takes the cd back to him. And no they cant copy it or record it, im sure they are searched going into the room.

Too soon to leak. Look for it 2, 2 and 1/2 weeks prior to release.

Sony has long since apologized, stopped using the Rootkit software, and replaced the discs that had them on it (I know cause I was still working in a record store when it happened)

And as for people saying its too soon, no it really isn't. I've said this before, butI routinely get my hands stuff 2 and even 3 months ahead of release.

I suspect this hasn't leaked already due to the relatively last minute nature of the deal with Sony. Factoring in manufacturing and distribution times, I'd say we can all expect to be listening to PE any minute now.
