What is "wasted kisses" about? I find the gunshots and heart monitor sound in the background very intriguing. Does anyone know the story behind this song?

infidelity, jealousy, murder. it's kind of obvious, isn't it?

He should have named this one Wasted Bullets.
What did he shoot her...like five times? and that heart machine is still beeping. No. first he smothers her, Then he shoots her, and she survives it! I don't get the "in front of your gut" part, though. I hope this doesn't mean he disemboweled her too. If so, Prince should stick to music and leave the murder business alone. Seriously, I never really listened to the lyrics that closely, I assumed the bullets and heart monitor were symbolic of his broken heart. Another perfectly good song ruined by questions.
