Since the Music Industry is collasping, do you think it's time for Michael Jackson...

... to sell his share in the Sony/ATV Music catalogue before it's too late ?

I mean, serioulsy. More than half of all music acquired by fans last year came from unpaid sources including Internet file sharing and CD burn. Owning the rights of big artists isn't worth a thin, like it used to.

I think If I was Michael Jackson I would sell my shares RIGHT NOW before it's too late.

Sorry... but its a stupid question.

The music industry isnt collapsing. I mean, the 'old', original industry maybe is, but...

Musicians are finding other ways to distribute and promote their music: in England The Arctic Monkeys became 'big' using Youtube.

Other artists are using Myspace or I-tunes to promote themselves.

And some little midget from Minneapolis is using a national newspaper to spread his music, in case you forgot.

It may seem a bit like a chaotic period at this moment, but its a good thing to see the people who earn the credits, the musicians themselves, are trying to get rid of that 'old', lump system of record companies.

And...sorry, when you even have the guts to bring Michael Jackson into is, you clearly have no clue what is happening in 'music' nowadays.

well , firstly this is the wrong forum

secondly... music wont die, its just not possible.. its been round for millions of years ... cd sales may be dying but music consumption keeps going up and the very fact that Michael Jacksons catalogue grows every month, being one of the biggest collections of intellectual property in the world is testament to that.
