Jimmy Fallon Parody of When Doves Cry vid

First off, apologies if this isn't quite the right forum. But it does involve Prince.

Has anyone seen the video for Jimmy Fallon's single off his new cd, "Idiot Boyfriend" ? Basically, Jimmy goes over to his girlfriend's house, they want him to sing, and he start's singing this song, getting really into it. Periodically the video flashes away to parodies of different 80's videos (At least I presume, the only part I recognized was the when doves cry bit). Close to the end there are a couple of flashes to a look-alike When Doves Cry set, with the bathtub and flower petals. Jimmy is crawling on and humping the floor in a great Prince outfit, complete with peach-fuzz mustache.

Anyway, I thought this video was pretty hilarious, and the whole song is sung in an early Prince style falsetto. The music and voice reminded me of Soft and Wet in particular, especially the love-making-gasp-for-air sounds smile

Sorry if someone else has already posted this, but the .org search is down. This video has been on MTV, and you can stream it in RealMedia or Windows Media from http://www.jimmyfallon.ne...imedia.php

Enjoy!

I saw the video on tv twice and thought it was hilarious!
And not that anyone here cares, but the other videos he parodies are Michael Jackson's "Don't Stop 'Till You Get Enough", Michael Jackson's "Rock With You" and Bobby Brown's "Every Little Step".

Actually I do, I was wondering what those others were. I'm afraid I didn't have MTV growing up in the 80's (and a good chunk of the 90's too). Thanks Krystystystyna!

It was funny maybe the first 2 or 3 times I saw it. That whole part about bringing over a movie like the Matrix and the grandmother bitching him out. Now I can't stand that fucking song. I run for the remote as soon as I hear it now. barf

that's how comedy rock is. it's funny the first 2 or 3 times, and then you hate it. but then, they still have 2 more months of promotion to do with that song/video confused

The stuff on the VMA's, and comedy on almost any awards show, always seems like crap. It's too staged or something, like they have to get a quick joke out every time they come back from commercial before they can introduce the next presenters.
