Im not hype for the album really as much as I am for seeing him live. I didnt like the album title, and I still dont like the album cover so it had dissapointed me. 3121 had a shroud of mystery and Black Sweat just made me go nuts. Well I will take it as another Musicology but I will wait and hold my mouth 2 c what comes. I may end up lovin it.

Oh, btw I'm an American...j'adore les français et aussi la France tellement.

Also, I don't know any Americans who speak "American"--but a lot of us speak English. wink

Wrong.

No, I'm not wrong. I don't know any Americans who speak "American;" you may, but I don't. Furthermore, I've never heard anyone refer to it as solely "American." It's either American English or British English, but mostly simply English.

American English is commonly referred 2 as "American", as it is very different from "proper" English.

I think American English that is not "proper" (e.g. grammatically incorrect) is more commonly known as slang.

OK. Clarity... Most of the world outside of the U.S. refers to it as "American", as it is very different from the way the English speak and write, with or without slang. Cool? I'm from NY, by the way.

that review sounded alright to me. it actually made me more curious about the album than i had been... don't mean to offend, but i don't take the french too seriously when it comes to judging (or making) great pop music neutral

this is so typical for the prince FAM community. people will drag
down an entire nation (in this instance the french) if they have
to, just to make it damn clear that prince is incapable of flaws

lol

absolutely crazy.

if this was a dutch review they'd probably say most people who
were at the listening parties were to high or to tired from
fucking prostitutes all day to make a good call on the album smile

Fuck the date. Too many complications.

Just a nice, satisfying BJ with a transparent promise of more to come, take the disc and run. Then leak to all, knowing that you won't get caught because you can always blackmail said Sony exec.

Damn, I think waaay too deeply into these scenarios.

This is one of the silliest statements I heard yet...LOL...Look, I'm down to talk down the Purple Kook-Aid sippers...There are folks on the Org that think that Prince's shit dont stink and can actually be used as cologne...These people, who shit on people for even daring to criticize the Purple cat, should be talked to for real...I'm not with all the FAM shit...But you are on some wackiness dude...

I don't think Prince is trying to sell 5 million copies...Shit, he only sqeaked to platinum worldwide with 3121...

Newsflash homie: The rest of the world is not ripping the Web trying to find Planet Earth leaks (Which btw is a cool little album) just like they weren't killing each other to get leaks of Paul MCartney's new joint...These albums will do what they are supposed to do...sell moderately well, get critical praise, maybe win a few Grammy's and expand on the already rich legacy of these acts...And if we are lucky we will get some dope ass songs to jam to...It's not that serious homie...For real...Cool off and enjoy or hate the album when it comes out...

nod I just listened to it a couple of times. At this point I'd say it's pretty cool. Need to listen to it some more, it may well be a grower.

I could overanalyze and take exception to the stereotyping in the lyrics geek, but instead I'll just enjoy the tune! music cool razz

MAYBE THE EARLY REVIEWS CAME OUT SO PRINCE CAN GET A FEEL OF WHAT PEOPLE THINK OF THE CD. IT WOULDNT BE OUT OF THE QUESTION FOR PRINCE TO CHANGE THE SONGS THAT ARE ON THE CD.

ANYWAY ITS ALL INTERESTING!

i think the cd is printed and ready to be shipped by now. it's only
what, 18 days before it hits european stores.

hardly enough time to listen to feedback from listening parties and
change the tracklist.

besides, i don't think prince gives a flying fuck what we think of
the tracks as long as he's happy with the disc.

Ya'll just need to keep your pants on & wait for your own review & give yourself a min to absorb the material & not be too quick to Judge!

Yeah the country that welcome Miles Davis, Gillepsie and James Brown like Kings when they were treated like shit back in the USA. The country that loves pure jazz music.
The country where Hendrix has revealed his talent when playing at the Olympia when he was totally unknown everywhere else in the world.
You're so wrong. There are much more music connaisseurs in France and acrooss countries like the UK or Holland than there are in countries where Hip Hop and Heavy Metal and poor R&B have damaged the music industry and young people's ears.
