What songs will Prince play in London? I guess I need to know in advance what songs will be played as Im taking my wife (who is NOT a Prince fan), but I want to get ger educated first. If its the PE stuff, then I need to get her into the new CD etc. If its the "hits" or 3121, ditto, I need to get her to listen to the songs first.
The last time I took her to a Prince concert (in Hammersmith), I loved every minute of it, but she didnt know any of the songs except Purple Rain. All the excitement I had when Joy In Repetition came on, meant absolutely nothing to her. Really, I would love to share the excitement with her, but she doesnt get it, so I need to at least get her listening to the songs first... any clues??

And this time he means it When I saw him in Hammersmith in 2002 they said the same thing about playing "hits", but he came out with songs like "Joy in Repetition", and "Strange Relationship", which might be "hits" for us fans, but not for someone who is not a fan.

IMO, if your wife is NOT a Prince fan she will probably NEVER have the same kind of experience you have at one of his shows. My older sister and I have been to see him several times over the years and our younger sister could never understand what all the hoopla was all about. Our younger sister was definitly into his music, but never experienced him live. Finally, in 2004 I got tickets to see Prince on his Musicology Tour. I told my younger sister that I was taking her. It was still no big deal to her until that man got on stage. My sister CRIED!!! That's right, this girl cried for the entire opening song. I asked her what the hell was wrong!!! She said she had no idea Prince was so AWSOME live!!! Not to mention, The Time was the suprise opening act. My sister had a great time and we partied our asses off! She said that that was the best concert experience of her life. Bottom line Vinx98 is that either your wife digs him or she doesn't Either his music will touch her in some way or it won't! Good Luck!

My wife enjoyed the concert in Hammersmith very much, she was surprised I guess by the stage presence. However, she just didnt know the songs so couldnt sing along with me!

No, but I know for certain that Prince never played 'Purple Rain' at Hammersmith. If you heard 'Joy In Repetition' you attended 5 October 2002, when Maceo solo-ed. As it was a 'One Nite Alone' concert, Prince played far fewer hits, and in London he never played Purple Rain in 2002. To be honest, I would relax. I suspect, given the venue, size of crowd, history of performances to this type of audience, demographic that Prince appears to be seeking to reach by performing in this way ... that he'll play a mix of recent album singles, covers and big hits. . Im fairly certain he played Purple Rain in Hammersmith, maybe it wasnt 2002. Yes I def. heard Joy In Repetition, can never forget that! And lots of Rainbow Children stuff, so it must have been after 2002 right??

London, what does Big Ben say? "Time to do the grind..." "Half of what I say is meaningless; but I say it so that the other half may reach you." - Kahlil Gibran
