Prince's entourage cursed?

Lately, I've been thinking a lot about the tragedies that struck Prince's entourage/band members :
1990- Charles Huntsberry,P's bodyguard died of heart failure
1990-1991 Sheila E gravely ill
1996- Prince's son,Gregory born with Pfeiffer syndrome, died
1996-Wendy's brother died of drug overdose
2004-Lisa's brother died of enlarged heart condition
2004-John Blackwell's daughter died drowning in family's pool

Coincidences? Are there more? Might explain why Prince's found refuge in his faith...

I don't think so. No one is invincible to tragedies/death.

I believe Bonni Boyer died as well,
but these types of events are part of life, not a curse

True, and in the big picture that's not that many incidents considering the time span and amount of people involved. Also, 2 of those instances were drug related (Chick had heart problems from years of abuse I believe) and sadly, too many kids drown each year. It's a top cause of deaths in children. I myself don't swim well and am a nervous wreck when my 3 year old goes in the pool with his father. Since it's officially summer, this is a good reminder for everyone to watch your kids closely around any water.

1996-Bonnie Boyer died of brain aneurysm

If we consider Prince's entourage as a family then I think it is a lot of tragedies for ONE family no matter what the causes of death were.

FFS there is a lot of bad stuff that happens in everyone's life. You really are stretching here, and to prove what?

nod Death is part of life, it will get close to you sometime. Again, if you take out the drug related instances (preventable), there really haven't been that many true "tragedies" amongst the "family". Geesh, it's not like the Kennedy's. confused

I'm NOT trying to prove anything,It's a plain observation.Reading Comprehension people!! 2 of Prince's employees die(at a young age),3 of his closest friends lose a very close relative(also at a young age) ,another one gets very sick and P's baby dies. All that, even in a 10 year span,is a lot to handle and I myself don't know anybody who had to deal with so many tragedies. I 'm just saying that personally it strikes me as being odd ,excuse me for insulting your intelligence.Again, no need to be nasty.

I don't think this thread is appropriate or fair. Life and death are a part of our experience as humans. Placing the title of "curse" on any individual or circle of people is far reaching. cool

Well, then I guess I am lucky. I am in my late 30s and, thank God,never had to mourn so many people.

I think it's terrible that anybody would even think of these things as a "curse", they have been tragedies in and related to Prince's life but he continues on.Why even bring them up?

I just turned 30 and like i said consider yourself lucky, things happen... It's Life and at some point in time we all will deal with such tragedies, some more than others neutral

Yeah i dont think its an abnormal amount of deaths and tragedies, considering the "Industry" has alot of demons so the drug related incidents are not un-common, but also Prince has worked with Hundreds and Hundreds of People so its not really a great number of incidents in a 30 year career.

Well you should count your blessings if you still have your mother and father and you've never had a child die before your eyes.

Death is a natural part of life. No escaping it. We're all gonna die someday. It's not a curse, nor something to be feared. Fearing it only causes one to lose sight of the moments they are living today. I'm sorry for the losses he and his band members have suffered, and I pray they each find peace within themselves, but it's a sad day when someone would consider nature to be a curse. confused

I believe Sheila used to be a little heavy on the substance abuse back in the day also. I lived in the Bay Area back then where she is from and the rumors were flying. This may have had something to do with her ailments. Even saw her in a local club where she came in calmly but a few hours later had to be caried out by her bodygard. She started to take off her shirt on the dance floor and her bodygard stoped her. She resisted a little and he then carried her out! Sheila seems to be heavy into her faith now and I'm so glad her career and life seem to be going in a positive direction! angel
