I give it to SOTT.

While I enjoy the Lovesexy show, and it's great fun with a lot of great hits and new stuff, I'm not really a fan of the schizo, medley-crazy pace of it. And it's not the only Prince tour that's suffered from this problem. The bits and pieces I've seen of the Parade show, plus some of the shows I've been to and others I've seen bootlegs of, it's a recurring problem.

Also, I'm not a fan of the play-acting with a dancer on stage. It works in the SOTT movie, because there IS sort of a plotline, since it is a movie. But it's very corny during the Lovesexy show.

But don't get me wrong, Lovesexy is still a great show! biggrin I just prefer SOTT. There's more room for us and him to breathe and the songs to stretch out to a natural length and become their own thing.

Well, in all fairness, the SOTT movie edited out all the of the medley portions of older songs. What you're left with is re-enacted performances of songs from the current album. The 2nd half of the Lovesexy show contains full-length songs. So it's really only fair to compare that 2nd half.

i think the piano medley in LL--alexa de paris, starfish and coffee, raspberry beret, strange relationship, condition of the heart would be the tiebreaker. quite a fews songs from sott are done equally as well in LL

But the only part of the SOTT show that could be qualified as a medley-type thing would be the Let's Go Crazy-Doves-Rain-1999 part right? Otherwise I don't hear any medleys on the SOTT tour...

As a spectacle, probably SOTT. But I'd still go with Lovesexy as it's a "real" live concert.

Got to be Lovesexy, I love Sign O The Times, but Lovesexy is amazing, and over two parts. The best version of 'The Cross' as well, in my oppinion, is on the Lovesexy video. Sheila E drum solo, piano solo, the energy of the whole thing, AWESOME. cool

I wish he had also made a concert FILM of the Lovesexy tour as opposed to only the video. The Lovesexy tour is so conceptual, and also got better and more intense in many ways as it went on.

The live video is sometimes not the best with it's live cutting and live angles.

We watched SOTT in the theater from the 7:00 pm showing until 1:40 am.
Watching the SOTT film is what cemented my status as a Prince fan.

Phew!!! That's a hard one. Went to the Dormund-concert and will never forget, my entire life.
Think that the SOTT-concerts were tighter in performance, music and show. On the other hand, the Lovesexy-concerts were more playfull and the synergy with the audience was better. The whole crowd wore black or white with polka white or black dots (well the dutch people for the most) The Lovesexy-concert was more of a 'happening' than a concert, the feeling of 'being a part of it' was stronger IMO than during a SOTT-concert
So, I would go for Lovesexy, but I'm a little prejudiced since I never went to a SOTT-concert. wink

the edge goes 2 SOTT ..the per4mance of housequake, hot thing organ solo DAMN!!! ...the cross, it's gonna b a beautiful night.

and even tho this movie is more focused on the album than a real concert xperience, Lovesexy Live is tight as all hell...the edge still goes 2 SOTT
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Tour: SOTT
Concert registration: Lovesexy simply because the SOTT movie is as real as a MJ concert.

SOTT Movie was LipSynced...so its no contest!

Lovesexy was 1 of the most Brilliant per4mances of Prince caught on Tape. With per4mances like PR, Sister, Anna Stesia, The Cross, Blues In C,....damn I could go all day! lol

Lovesexy wins

Lovesexy - although I also love SOTT, I sooooo wanted to see him live after watching the Lovesexy Tour. I have them all on video and as they are 20 years old now and in poor condition due to over playing, I was wondering can you get either on DVD these days???
