But aren't those traditional Japanese sandles a little lower heeled. What did Prince do, go and get himself some custom made Japanese lift platform sandals. He's has got to STOP! My belly hurts from laughing too much!. I think the altered photo should be made into a poster and sold somewhere, it's too good to confine just to us here, let the whole world laugh with us! I'm gonna ignore the socks & flip flops & say he looks completely fuckable here 
He just got off a plane, probably kicked the shoes off in flight & wanted something quick to slip on after. They DO make slip on sneakers though

They are supposed to be worn like that, with those white socks. Now, I ´m not a 100% sure about the name, since "tabis" can also be those shoes that the Ninjas used to wear ( with that split thing between the toes) but Prince is definitely wearing them correctly and is not breaking the flip flop etiquette. That picture with the real flip flops and socks looks stupid though. And no , it is not fashionable to wear socks with flip flops, neither in Europe, nor anywhere else. Remember that line from 3121 "...take your pick from the Japanese robes and sandals..." They are Japanese "sandals", not flip flops. Like the stuff that Geishas wear. Ask Ian, he probably knows better than I do. Yeah they do look like Japanese sandals! "Tabi" is the actually name of the "split-toe" socks you wear with them though - the sandals themselves are called "geta". I have a black pair of geta that are similar (but of course they aren't as ludicrously high as Prince's!). To be honest, they aren't that comfy at all - they wouldn't be my first choice of aiport footwear 
(Though I do have a weird habit where I always buy a fresh pair of sneaks before I fly - there's something important about comfy shoes when you fly! | |

I have been saying for some time now that there was something said, that he might be suffering from hip problems.If that is true he is finding it difficult to wear the extreme high shoes,and whenever he can he will wear flat shoes when possible.Because of people watching him so closely,he is probably not going to wear a regular low shoe for fear of people knowing his problem.What he needs to do is accept it,deal with it(surgery or what is needed),and think about what is best for HIM.If the fans and others don't care about his health then that is their ignorance!!!He would still be awesome,even if he had to do his show from a wheelchair!!! | |

He can wear some damn flippin' flops, dammit!!! His damn feet hurt!! Anyone who wears heels for any amount of time can attest to that!! And maybe he is a little "jowly". We all age, even him, although it is really tough to imagine. We will all be jowly some day and probably all wear frickin' flip flops with socks, too. | |

I like it. I don't see the big deal about socks with sandals if it's the right socks with nice sandals. Certainly not tube-socks and flip flops.
Jeeze. Prince can wear pumps and stilettos for years and people think it's cool, but he wears Japanese sandals and people freak out. | |

These will catch on way before the girdle does. Even if they don't, I hope he keeps wearing them...They're way more practical than heels, all the time.
