Still would stand all Time Anyone Help? I just downloaded a live recording of this track and I'm trying to find the source from where it comes.
The version is a soundboard recording, the instrumentation is drums, bass, elec Piano, female backing vox and P on guitar and vocals. After a long intro he sings the first verse in his high register, plays a guitar solo based on the melody then sings again, improvising as the backing singers sing the title line and this is where my version cuts off at about 3 mins. If anyone has any ideas I'd be most grateful, thanks.

Chances are that it's from the Trojan Horse aftershow from August 19, 1988. The bootleg that it comes from is commonly known as "Small Club". If you happen to find a longer version, listen for Prince correcting his backing vocalists. Then you'll know it's from this recording. Plus, it's classic.

I had a friend who I think recorded this version for me as part of the black album way back in the late '80s.
The version of this has Prince singing something like; "Never on Sundays, Always on Mondays..." And, he goes on explaining the sex scheduled for each day of the days of the week. Unfortunately, I no longer own this recording but I'm wondering a) Why this version was part of the Black Album? and b) Is this the same version Tron's speaks of (August 19'88). I've never heard this version of this song anywhere else again nor is it part of the Black Album CD version I owe today.

The sex schedule sequence is also from the Small Club boot. Not sure why your friend stuck it on the black album, maybe he just thought it was a cool extra to give you.

Thanks for the information. I was really disappointed of course at not having this version on the Black Album copy I have.

How does it go?
"Who's the fool singing will, it's wuz!!"? Did I quote that right? Not a fan of that live cut. I love Small Club, but that song and People Without went too long.
