For You -- "should've been singles"

According to you, it looks like Prince and/or WB made the right choice with this album since For You's first single was "Soft & Wet" with "So Blue" as it's B-side. It was released on July 29th, 1978. Radio stations were not sure about playing a song with that title. Nevertheless, the song had a long 20-week stay on the U.S. R&B music charts, peaking at #12 and barely breaking the Top 100 on the U.S. Pop charts where it stopped at #92. The second single, "Just as Long as We're Together" with "In Love" as it's B-side, was released on December 23, 1978, and sat on the R&B charts for 7 weeks, reaching up to #91. (A rare 12" promo-copy of this single does exist). What if "In Love" had been the A-side? By the end of '78, the album fell off the charts completely and another single was not released. (For You was not released in the UK until 1984).

CMK, good use of emoticons... yeah, I agree with many of you that "Sexy Dancer" would make a good single, especially during that day. Lots of good single choices on this album.
