Is Prince tryin 2 b a girl? Corsets for Men.... The use and wear of corsets by men historically was not an uncommon practice. Not only did it provide sturdy back support for activities such as riding and hunting, but it also created the very narrow waist, broad shouldered look that men's fashions of the day dictated. Today male corsetry still exists... for some of the same reasons men corseted in the past as well as many other physical, spiritual, and erotic reasons. Special Construction to Meet the Needs of Male Customers Whether you are a man trying to achieve a more femine form, or a man desiring an exaggerated masculine form, there are certain aspects of the male anatomy that need to be taken into account when designing a corset for men. The length of torso is very often much longer on men than on women... this requires special care during the drafting and designing process. Proper balance and line are crucial to the aesthetic success of a piece -- we spend a great deal of time examining your measurements and detemining the most suitable way to draft your custom pattern so that Your desired effect is met! Also, the male waistline typically will fall lower than the female waistline. This fact becomes important when we determine your reasons and desired effects from corseting. If you want to retain a more masculine silhouette we will keep the waist line at a lower position, and in contrast, to achieve a more feminine shape we will create a higher waistline to shape you into a more true female form.

It's funny...people talking about this corset thing. Doesn't anyone remember the "LoveSexy" period? I mean, I remember watching parts of that concert DVD (Germany) where he was performing in what appeared to be a skirt, white tights, and a bow in his hair. All of a sudden, it's shocking people that Prince is wearing (what isn't even confirmed to be) a corset...and he's trying to be a girl??
Oh well... | |

Oh well... That was THEN this is NOW... I suppose wearin a corset is more mature than cursing and wearing a thong on stage.

I was thinking the same thing the other day...
But I don't think Prince is trying to be a girl... I was thinking about the times when it was normal for men to wear corsets, like you mentioned in your post, and that maybe P was trying to dress like they did - kind of like he did in the 80s.

its not that bad. its a corset for god's sake. at least he wears them outside his clothing (from the PE photo). i'd be more worried if he had been wearing them under clothing for a while and not saying anything. it doesn't mean he's tryin to be a girl.
Men in the entertainment industry get makeup done all the time for social events- that doesn't make them feminine. "So shall it be written, so shall it be sung..."

Wigs, too. Look at French history. They'd wear the same wig forever and even had pointy chopstick looking things to itch the fleas!! well, maybe it was lice..... [Edited 6/15/07 20:33pm]

He is wearing a corset to improve his posture and prevent age-induced backaches. Wearing heels all the time can also cause backaches. love the one who is Love!
