To kind of get back to the original post"Has prince regressed as a producer".I have to say yes.I love Prince and although he is a great producer, every producer/musician has periods in their careers when their signature sounds become a little played out.It happens to every one.I would love for Prince to be produced by someone like Questlove(D'angelo), Jazzy Jeff(Jill Scott), Ali Shaheed Muhammed(A Tribe Called Quest) or Timbaland.Sort of the way Prince injected some new life into George Clinton's and Mavis Staples music.I think that if Prince was to be produced by someone else it should be someone who would respect his music and not try to ruin Prince's music just to make a hit or at the very least a really hardcore funk lp.Sort of how that remix of "The Greatest Romance Ever Sold"with EVE really captured a funkier side of Prince that you don't get to see much anymore. That should have been the version released on the lp(IMO).It would have been a big hit.I believe that remix was produced by someone else too. biggrin
