I don't think his guitars sound overproduced in the 80's. My favorite era would probably be PR-Lovesexy. It's certainly the most dynamic. | |

P always sounds great but I like the dirty tones he got with the Boogie Amps and the Boss pedals and the Cloud Guitar. I'm probably the weirdo opinion but I like his playing better without the vibrato bar. His natural vibrato and note selections and phrasing make the difference. His clean tones with the Hohner always sound good. I never get tired of hearing him play funky rhythm guitar.
