SIGN "O" THE TIMES dvd

This is Prince's best concert in my opinion. It's also Prince @ his funniest LOL lol

My fave quotes:

"Hey Cat, how about I take U on a date?
F*ck off!"
falloff

"What is that?
It's a sticky, hot thang!"
lol

"Does anybody know about the Quake? BULLSH!T." eek

Also I love the funny faces Prince makes,
And when him & Cat were humping opposite sides of the wall. lol

The acting in-between performances was cool! cool

What r your favorite things about this concert? smile

Sorry, not trying to be nitpicky, but in the interest of being correct, it's "A sweet, sticky thing."

Hepcat, I picked a copy up in Montreal. It's an official release in Canada. Be very careful about ordering online; you don't want the Brazilian one (or whatever that unofficial one is).

And my favorite line is when Prince says "Thank you" at the end of IGBABN and the entire crowd shouts back, "No, thank you! So cheesy, it cracks me up.

I love this DVD! I have the Canadian version which you can get at amazon.ca. My favorite thing about it is Prince's outfit during Hot Thing drool . My favorite parts are Housequake, Hot Thing, and It's Gonna Be a Beautiful Night.

Some other things I love in this movie, out of about a million things I could name: Bonnie dropping the flower petals at the beginning of the incredible folk/rock version of The Cross, and then how they float back up into her hand in reverse at the end (brings a tear to my eye now that she's gone), Sheila's blue-green eye shadow in the song, wondering if Sheila knew her white outfit would become see-through eek , Prince's jean jacket, "A Train--uh!" and "Hit me in the back!"...

As much as I LOVE this DVD....I would have 2 say it comes in 2nd place to the Lovesexy '88 Dortmund show.

For 2 reasons:

1. The per4mances on this DVD was all Lipsynched
2. Dortmund had Much better Guitar Solos & so so so many more songs

But this is a Classic DVD & a Must have 4 any Prince fan cool

None. But in my dreams it would have an audio commentary from Prince and Sheila, deleted scenes, and a gag reel.

I always wait when buying a dvd when it has no special features. They seem to bring out a new version like a year or 2 later with all the cool stuff on it. So I'll hold off for now, don't want to fall into that trap.

that makes sense- but how many years has it been since the DVD was released? if its been more than 3 yrs then maybe they won't release an updated version. maybe they wont release a new one until the 20th version of SOTT (didn't they do that with PR?).

story goes the Ahoy show was shot but too dark, so prince went in had the SOTT props set up at the PP soundstage and re did the whole entire set at PP now yes some parts from the actual show were salvageable from the editing room ,but the whole show was too dark.
