not yet - the nearest (in codename only) is the Steinberg LM-7 or LM-4 or LM-4 mark II, all of which are basically sample playback VST plugins with no actual Linn sound presets. the quality of the Linn sound, if i recall reading correctly, came as much from the built-in filters which disguised the low bitrate of the original samples. The nearest you'll get to it in software is a sample playback VST and samples from this chap on eBay who compiled every Linn drum sound at EVERY pitch onto a CD-ROM in .wav format... Maybe if we badger gMediamusic.com enough they might come up with a soundalike (they brought us the Arp Oddity and the MiniMonsta and the IMPOscar, which all sound pretty convincing simulations....) - p'raps by extracting the original Linn sample ROM contents and simulating the filters in software. Damn i wish i was an electro C++ boffin....

Damn i wish i was an electro C++ boffin.... Interesting... I managed to find basic samples online and a friend of mine has "turned them into" a drum machine for me for use with Abelton Live... I've yet to try it out, but yes the filtering on the original machine is what I think made the sounds so distinctive... What your suggesting sounds plausible... Might direct my friend to this post and see what he says... thanks
