A lot of people on this sit seem to think Jughead, Orgasm and Arms of Orion are some of P´s worst songs.

Well I was thinking of making up a CD of his worst songs and comparing that to Thriller (MJ´s best album), which one would I listen to...? Well Ive got to say Id listen to P´s worst album everytime... Thriller is OK, but.. its interesting no?

You don't like certain songs - it's okay. But that doesn't mean those are some of his worst ones.

Now If you ask me I would listen to Thriller anyday of the week vs. anybody else's worst songs. Even if it is Prince. You're insulting one of the greatest artists of all time to say you listen to sombody's worst work over their best. Would you listen to Bruce's worst. How about Lionel's worst. Luther's worst. James's worst. The point I'm making is music is for enjoyment period. And if the Thriller album isn't enjoyment then I don't know what is. The suggestions that I cant agree with are

Guitar (original version) - because I havent heard it yet
Crazy You (I really like this song!)
Venus De Milo (Fits into Parade really well, couldnt imagine parade without it!)
Do You Lie? (ummm, I dont know but I think this is a classic)
Curious Child (its OK, not one of his worst)
Da Bang (Not a great song, but one of the best on CB)
Had U (Love it, too short to hate, strong message)
Right the Wrong (Once again, I love this song, I know there are a lot of haters of this, but I really get into it..)
Baby Knows (Cheesy, silly song, but somehow I get into it)
I Will (I like it, seems to really "fit" into C&D and Into the Light)


Someone metioned that these were some of his fav. songs.. so Ill give my reasons for putting these into the "worst CD"

Push, Race, Now, Acknowledge Me (I put these in the same category as they are all similar to me - I find all these songs annoying, they seem to have so much going on, so many horns, maybe too much - I think they are all disjointed and kind of going nowhere, they all seem to have a message that I dont care about either, I just dont get these songs, and never will I guess)
Get Yo Groove On - I think its too MOR with no real substance, its just plain simple 90´s pop, which Ive never gotten into.
Emale - Dont like the R&B feeling to this, sounds forced
Joint 2 Joint - OK, lots of people like this, but I guess I dont, I think its self indulgent, goes nowhere and just sounds like Missy Elliot 90s gumpf, which is better forgotton.
Friend, Lover, Sister, Mother/Wife - Too cheesy for me
On the Couch + Satisfied - Like his other falsetto ballads, but without the sexual potency, so zzzzz
Lolita - Plastic sounding synths, try hard vocals (he´s trying to sound cool, but doesnt IMHO). I think the lyrics are perverse, which was OK when he was young, but now in his late 40´s, sounds a little sickening to me. Just my opinion though as I know lots of people like this song.
Orgasm - not really a song is it
Jughead - OK I used to dislike this song, but I guess these days I dont mind it too much because I like the way it fits in with MDMT and the Tony M + manager fight at the end is pretty funny. I put it on here, because I think there is a consensus that a lot of people seem to not like it.

All in all you might think I have a problem with R&B, maybe I do, maybe its only R&B from the 90´s, because all his R&B stuff from the 80´s I really love. I dont know, I just know what I like and dont like.

The point of this post is that would I rather listen to his worst songs than someone else´s best (ie Thriller)? The answer is yes, so I guess that must make my message seem weird, but its also a tribute to how good I think Prince is.
