Prince at my wedding.

I need your help. What Prince songs should I insist that the dj play at my

wedding. And what Prince song should be my first dance.

Hey, thanks for the good wishes. I actually have tmbgitw tentatively as my first song. My fiance is not a huge Prince fan, but she picked the colour scheme and it's purple! I will definately be the biggest Prince fan at the wedding, have been one since 1984. I'm hoping for the song list to be about 5-10% Prince. It sounds bad, but I am more excited about Planet Earth than I am for my wedding.

Yeah, Adore is a given. Thank-you. My fiance loves Adore and she isn't a big Prince fan. Who wouldn't love that song? It's to die for.

At our wedding, we introduced the wedding party with a loop of "Gamillah" from the "Chocolate Invasion" CD. It turned out great. Secondly, we made a DVD of the photo's of the wedding and did a slide show of the best photos and sent them to some of our family members as a gift. For the backdrop we used "When the lights go down"-The Vault, Power Fantastic-B Side CD disc 3, Track 2 from Expectations, and the final song we used was the same song that we used to get our first dance with our parents - Earth Wind and Fire's song "YOU". Hope some of these work for you. Oh yeah, we are both huge Prince fan's, so the DJ surprised us by having me put her garder belt on her leg by playing "DO ME BABY". You know I had to act a fool, don't you?

I think "Head" would be perfect. Just a little worried about the older relatives. Her side of the family is definately more conservative than mine. "Let's Pretend We're married" would be cool too, even though we will be by the time the dancing begins.

My fiancee and I have had similar discussions as we are both Prince fans who met at a show in Manchester 5 years ago and we're getting married next year. We thought having a Prince song as our first dance but its a tough choice as they are either too cheesy or too rude for the in-laws. We like Adore but think its too tricky to dance to.

Thanks for the suggestions
W2RIL is a challenge to dance to - apart from the old fav school disco approach. You know hands on shoulder and rock from side to side
AOO is ok but its not one of my fav tunes.
D&P - i like this one but my lady thinks its a bit too cheesy

At least we have a bit of time to figure it out biggrin
