Let's hope you are right about the sizeable hit part anyways. Only time will tell. Things seem to be coming together for him in that respect. I've got a guitar that can part the sea.

If the big radio networks continue to ignore him, he will have no more smash hits until the end of his career and maybe until the end of the world. [Edited 6/8/07 8:58am] In God we trust.

I doubt any of the singles that will come out will chart. He's not even coming out with anything special tied to the singles either, like remixes. Those days are over. Christian Zombie Vampires

plus all the ones everybody else mentioned. NO...IT WAS NEVER RELEASED IN THE UK that's your problem. we had those singles in the US before all of his albums. and IIRC, The Work was an NPGMC single and sold at concerts. well, you can see how this is less than shocking for those of us in the U.S.
you should have made the distinction between U.S. and U.K. release schedules. even so, at this point the matter is moot. wherever a new recording is released, it's gonna be circulating all over the place within a day either way, by official means or otherwise.

Actually the distinction was made "Prince releases UK single before album"

[Edited 6/8/07 13:06pm] I know what you mean, singles have been really lame for many years, and I also don't see the point of releasing a first single after the album has been out a while.
