The man's question was about Prince's contribution 2 American music.

That list is long.

Off the top:

A) A pioneer with Oberheim synths.
B) A pioneer with Linn drum machines.
C) Creative use of lyrics, seamlessly blending the bold and the subtle, with diverse subject matters.
D) Unique sense of harmony. Convincingly blends both major and minor keys within one song.
E) Vocal harmony. No one has ever laid down such dense vocal harmonies, with bold dissonance in the most unexpected places.
F) His style of Rhythm Funk Guitar.
G) His style of Funk Bass Guitar.
F) His level of energy in concert, and ability 2 connect with the audience.
"He's a musician's musician..."

it's kinda weird because he's already commemorated and praised for being one the freshest/strongest muscians of the generation. i can't imagine that going downhill. i think he'll go down for everything he's been praised for now and then. keeping up great quality sounds that draw one of the widest audiences. he also puts most artists to shame with live shows (i've never seen one, but the random stuff i've seen on tv never bores me)

and the pants

Prince is already known as the best rhythm guitarist in the world.

As a musician, and knowing many other musicias as well over a long period of time, I can safely say that Prince is the most influential musician of our generation, and I dont beleive this will change. He will continue to be influential long after his passing..

yes, NR came up with some wicked stuff for Bowie, MAdonna, Duran Duran, but I still think Prince can play rhthym in his sleep!
