it's pretty funny that people would spend 10-20 dollars to go to a smoky, drunk filled, not to mention bad repetitive music playing club but complain about 7 bucks to hang at the Park and hear good Prince music (which we all know we ain't hearing in the clubs). Did the post about the party say anything about a performance? it's funny how people create a scenario and then get mad when it turns out differently. peace. | |

actually, none of us blew this outta proportion...it's the folks readin and postin on the threadz that are. if u read my report you'd note that i did give him kudos 4 postin up that fact on the npgmc that he wouldn't be performin, nor did i (or anyone else, 4 that matter) expect a performance. we all hoped 4 one, more or less, cuz u never know....folks can hope 4 things, can't we? read thoroughly, people... but you were untrue....you had another edit, and it looked just like you... This was my main disappoinment for the nite. The crew I was with had some fun, but it was all fun we made. Other than opening the door, Prince had no part in the fun I had on Fri. nite... For all of you that look at MPLS people and say "quit whining and be grateful you are there..." I say be HAPPY you aren't here. The more frequently you have to deal with Prince and his haphazard way of doing things, the easier it is to get fed up with him. This is completely exemplified by the numbers that show up at Paisley. Years ago, that place would be bumping with hundreds of people for mostly free parties. Performances were consistent, people "donated" a lot of money and all was good. Then, Prince started getting less and less consistent about performances/appearences at parties. Attendence started going down, and admission fees (albeit cheap) started going up. In the past few years there is typically less than 100 people at the Park. Many people from MPLS who were hardcore P fans thru the 90s have givien up and refuse to give him any more time or money. With distance you are allowed to glorify everything and ignore any negatives. ...be happy for that It just cracks me up how you aren't allowed to criticize Prince on this site without getting the troops riled up. In the threads where people vented, I don't think anyone said they were through with Prince because of this one nite. It was just a bunch of us who'd had some fun at the Park on Fri but were generally disappointed and wanted to vent. That's all I'm gonna say on this and hopefully this topic will fade away soon... I've chosen not to respond simply because I feel no matter what we say we'll still get blasted for giving our opinion. Oh well. You can't please everybody. |
