I just joined the site and i've been looking at the threads over the last few days and everyone was bagging on sinead.

The ignorance of people is astounding. I'm not a fan of sinead's music but she is a courageous woman who tells the thruth even if it gets her hated.

I respect her immensely aned for those who still go on about 'the pope' incident i suggest you find out why she did it. The whole reason was for people to question it. It was extremely righteous just put it that why.

If somebody asks a question about Prince attacking her why should she say oh no i won't discuss it? The body language when she was on irish tv discussing it clearly shows it still bothers her and it did happen so why do fans deny it. Let's acknowledge it, condem it and move on.

I love Sinead O'Connor. I think her version of "Nothing compares 2 u" is even better than Prince's. I love her song "Mandinka" too!!!!

The only part in her cover of "Nothing.." I don't like is when she changes the lyrics "I know that living with me baby was sometimes hard.."...to "I know that living with you baby was sometimes hard.." that annoys me because I think the geninuineness of the apology is taken away in the song and put on the ex lover and it just makes it less romantic and pleading..it just kinda takes me out of the song. I mean the narrative is the one that should be admiting their faults because they are almost dying without that person they love.

You shouldn't be so sure it DID happen, until Prince comes out and says Yep it did, I won't fully 100% believed Sinead. Although Prince would never come out and say that. But if he sues her or denies it, I'll believe that.

sinead is fantastic, and her voice is even more angelic live, when she sings "troy" with the full string arrangement live it is phenomenal and sends chills up my spine. I went to see her live twice in Glasgow & Edinburgh two years back and she referred to Prince as a "short arse", but i forgive her purely because she created "The lion & Cobra" which is a work of art imo

I think she's an amazing artist, who's had a lot of interesting stuff to say. But her constant reversals (I'm retired, I'm gay, I'm a preacher...ok, nevermind) do throw a bit of doubt on her in regard to this sort of stuff. To be fair, she does make it sound she was every bit as responsible for this fight, if it did happen.

I don't know about the Hendrix incident but was he dating this woman at the time? I could see your stance on the Sinead thing if she and P were dating...but they weren't. Most women who get attacked by people they have zero history with go to the police.

Like I said, if it did happen and it was all that she said it was, and she was that disturbed by it then she should have pressed charges at the time it happened.
