I don't think "Fury" rocks that much

At least not on the 3121 album. It sounded better when he played the song on SNL last year. But I don't think the song generally rocks as hard as some of his other songs. "I Like It There", "Dolphin" and "Let's Go Crazy". Those songs fuckin' ROCK!!!! headbang

"Fury" is just.....OK. shrug

can you imagine if he put the February version of "Guitar" on Planet Earth
and then played the new version of "Guitar" live on some show?

same difference

It's really let down by the lifeless, soul-sucking production nod I still like it well enough, though. Just wish it rocked harder.

The 'fury' lp version isn't in the same realm of crappiness as the first version of 'guitar'.

Do you think guitar's that much of an improvement? For me the lyrics are so bad it totally ruins it. Couldnt he have hidden those lyrics under some voice effects or something!?

Prince's "rock" tracks have been pretty weak since Play in the Sunshine.

They usually sound fine live but then he cheeses them up with too much production.

I pretty much always like when songs are done live a lot better, so I agree Fury was better on SNL

The version on 3121 is watered down for sure but to think that its not the only way to think that would be if you hadn't heard the SNL version. I don't know why he did that?? confused confused

Agreed. I think "Fury" is way overrated.
