sorry guys, i do like Guitar in the context of a throwaway Prince song but Icky Thump just walks all over Prince. It's cool, inventive, simple and has a riff that rocks hard. Come on P just let rip and throw those shakles off.

I appreciate 'White Stripes' (there one of those Artists I feel I SHOULD like more than I actually do), but their music has an alarming tendency to sound the same.

There is very little variety. They do what they do very well, but they don't do anything else.

What will the 'White Stripes' sound like in 30 years? That is the point Prince is at right now.

I don't feel Prince and the 'White Stripes' are really in the same category for comparison, frankly. There music is more raw and basic (generally) than Prince's.

I like 'Guitar', particularly what I've heard of the new version.

funkyhead, it is a very nice tune indeed but something (melody, vocals, arrangements) that has been done a million times by dozens of metal or rock bands. I quite like this kind of irish vibe they have added to the song as well. I like this tune but why this stupid and lame hate for Guitar.
It doesn't prevent me from loving Guitar at all. Prince has his own sound and I fucking LOVE IT !
