...I've just listened 2 a live recording of "Shadows and Chains" and it sounds good, somewhere between "the cross" and "papa"... Will it be included in the forthcoming "Planet Earth" ? I agree with U and share the same hope. Guitar and this one seem to anounce a rock-vibe album with a cool real sound... Does anyone know ? ...yeah we just have 2 be patient... Did anyone hear that song ? It's just a cover version of Fleetwod Mac's "The Chain" with some altered lyrics. Not bad, but also nothing special. [Edited 6/12/07 6:19am]

3121 Spy Report: Chelsea Rodgers
Our spies were out-and-about 2day enjoying a beautiful sunny Saturday in Beverly Hills when they spotted the one-and-only Chelsea Rodgers in the middle of a photo shoot in the park. Chelsea rocked her signature earth boots and we couldn't help but stop an stare. Supercute. Chelsea...photo shoot...The Park. Earth boots. Earth...boots... Where in London was the studio that Wendy and Lisa recorded at during filming of UTCM (photo shoot)? Chelsea? The Park...boots...Earth. Might we be getting a li'l Lisa-and-Wendy sumthin' from the Vault? We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

just extract the promo from his desk I'm not going to jack it, since it would be blatantly obvious who did it. I have pics of Prince on my desk and he sits less than half a metre from me. I'll take a quick peek when he leaves in 10 minutes or so...i'm here till 7pm at work today [Edited 6/12/07 9:21am] |

He surely still isn't that desperate to create the perfect, multi-million selling opus? I certainly hope not. I mean, of course I'll enjoy it cos it's a Prince album, but I'd still prefer an album with many songs that do nothing for me on first listen, but after a few listens, really get under my skin and stay there for some time. Not instant fixes that last for a while, but get boring very quickly. Here's to Planet Earth being something jaw-dropping and something that goes against the grain. After 30 years in the biz.....this cd will deliver. Yawn ZZZZzzz. not heard from your..ahem.. laywers yet, mate.

As far as I'm concerned, when the album does come out, it'll jump to the top of my priority list.
Cuz the sooner I get it, the sooner I can talk about it. And I think I'll probably stay away from all topics discussing it cuz I don't want to develop any biases about the certain tracks or the album itself. I want to be surprised. If that's cool with all of you had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

Even after all these years, I still get excited anticipating a new Prince album. Planet Earth will be released on my birthday! How cool!
I have a feeling this will be a little pop gem, like his recent releases. I've given up on hoping that Prince will reinvent himself and blow my mind with another masterpiece (even though I think TRC came pretty close.) I'll just look forward to hearing some new Prince music, and I'm happy that The Man is still alive and making music for our enjoyment! How great it is to have Prince music as the soundtrack to my life!

You really shouldn't do that...you know people get all excited and stuff. Anyway, Here's the Planet Earth cover:
The lyrics above are not Princes, so sorry don't buy the Planet Earth album (whoops, meant the Black Album, even though Le Grind rocks) Bwah-ha-ha-ha..! "Plaid shorts are completely over."

Curious to know why the disc is called PLANET EARTH and if there is a concept involved..worldly beats maybe..or perhaps a compilation of conventional pop tracks.

I'm excited about this CD. I mean it's a Prince CD for God sake so of course it's going to be a major event for me when it drops next month. The only thing I'm hoping for is that this CD isn't leaked or if it does leak, leak the day before the CD drops. The leak for 3121 did a lot of damage and I'm pretty sure that things Prince wanted to do for 3121, he decided not to do because of it and it did hurt sales to a degree, I firmly believe that. Leaks are very real with new CD releases but I hope that Sony does all that they can to prevent it from happening. [Edited 6/14/07 19:04pm] I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Somebody leak this thing already, dammit!!!
Oops, sorry. "I would say that Prince's top thirty percent is great. Of that thirty percent, I'll bet the public has heard twenty percent of it." - Susan Rogers, "Hunting for Prince's Vault", BBC, 2015

Finally he's releasing new "mainstream" albums every year, like in the 80's: 3121 in 2006 and now this Planet Earth which looks promising
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
its the 15th... officially one month till the album comes out. unless of course... the release date is gonna change. "So shall it be written, so shall it be sung..."

With all the leaking of new "albums" going on these days it makes me wonder if the artists aren't leaking their own new material and then acting all mad about it because it generates buzz. Just a thought...
Planet Earth track list: 01- Planet Earth 02- Guitar 03- Somewhere Here On Earth 04- The One You Wanna C 05- Future Baby Mama 06- Mr Goodnight 07- All The Midnight In the World 08- Chelsea Rodgers 09- Lion Of Judah 10- REvelation Lion of Judah? Could it be that Prince is finally going to make a foray into some serious reggae riddims? (Blue Light doesn't really count; it was so lame). [Edited 6/16/07 8:07am]
