I think Somewhere Here on Earth is absolutely astonishing, the vocal, the lyric's sentiment, the arrangement, the production, and a Olympus-circling, yearning, soul-bruised vocal - one of his greatest. I'm not prone to hyperbole and generally bleed cynicism and bile, but by Christ you must have a aluminum ear if you don't think this is one of Prince's greatest achievements. It laughs from the VIP area at Parade's ballads. And I'm the guy who wants to be buried with my vinyl Parade in a yellow suit. Well done, wee man. You've found your voice again and I'm reminded why I'm here and on this trip for life.
I HAVE TO HEAR THIS. Somebody? Please "London, i've adopted a name that has no pronounciation.... is that cool with you?"

I HAVE TO HEAR THIS. Somebody? Please It's not quite THAT great. SHOH is a good track in that it evokes a Parade type vibe. The instrumentation makes it interesting. It's also kind of forgettable, honestly. Prince has ballads like a field has grass.

It really doesn't sound anything like Under the Cherry moon or Sometimes it Snows In April, which are the only two 'ballads' on Parade. I don't get the comparison, but Prince fans are generally more guilty than any fanbase of condeming the new by comparision. It evokes a smoky Billie Holliday, Nina Simone vibe rather than the funnzy chaotic fusion of Parade. It knows exactly what it is, but with Parade there's a sense of throwing everything against the wall to see what sticks.

If Prince wants to blame any fan site, it should be that one. That's all I'm saying. Sure, you are innocent of all wrongdoing and the spreading of PE is all down to Housequake. Everyone knows the mods there are power crazed neo-nazis who get off banning innocent people for no reason. All orgnotes and emails requesting trades or how to acquire bootleggage will be ignored. - The ThreadKiller -
