After hearing what Lil Wayne did to it, I just wish I could forget how good D&P was because it'll never sound the same to me again!

it's been a while since I've listened 2 it the song as well.
But I've been preoccupied with my 2 latest purchases (ATWIAD & Come). And the gifts I've received, so I hardly have time (or care 2) to check out "The Very Best of..." anymore. It's definitely a great song. Loved it since I first saw video for it. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

The Friday before the album's release, Radio One in the UK played 'Daddy Pop' and I was awe-struck by its dynamic sound. It was just, Wow!
I've always had a soft spot for that song and it always amazes me that it isn't looked upon too highly amongst fans. Likewise, although Jughead really is below par, there's still something about it that makes me want to jig around the room like a madman. It's only when you really dissect D&P when you realise that it's as musically diverse as Sign O The Times. Not one song on it sounds anything like any of the others.

To this day I still love Daddy Pop along with Live 4 Love. I think only two songs on there are maybe below the others...Jughead and Walk don't walk but I still don't find myself running to pick up my remote to hit skip on them. Other than that when I listen, it seems like there are some really good tracks on that cd. I think people have forgotten about how good it is. Originally it was looked at as sorta a return to creative form or the best since Sign O' the Times by critics wasn't it? "Why'd I waste my kisses on you baby?" R.I.P. D&P is an OK album. Wouldn't say it's fantastic and certainly wouldn't compare it Sign O The Times.
When I first heard Gett Off I thought it was brilliant! Then when I heard the rest of the album it occoured to me that it was just a commercial album intended to get him "back" and "prove" to people he still had it - not that he ever lost it! And good on him!!! He made heaps of $$$$ out of it and it really got him back up there. Not one of his best though. There is a pattern with Prince. He likes to release commercial albums every now and then, and once the masses are interested and he has their attention, he releases something less commercial and test his audience. Purple Rain - Around The World In A Day Diamonds & Pearls - o(-+> Musicoligy - 3121 Good on him though for doing it and making the masses realising music ain't all about money! I had to go maybe a decade without it
to fully appreciate it I remember when the album was out and the skating rink we would go to it's like... D&P was the only CD that the place owned and when the DJ won't present they would just play the D&P album over & over & over & over I don't care if I never hear "Cream" EVER again in life LOL but yeah once I re-discovered it (if you will) I really enjoy the album ("Cream (sha boogie bop)" included) because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
