the over-production of Prince's version strips the emotion that song has right out of it.

Prince does an alright job of the song, but it's just impossible to live up to the Stylistics version.

Prince's is definitely better,4 me,anywayz.

I like the song just fine ... but what ruins it is when he says "I love you baby" at the end.

The cover of I Can't Make U Love Me is much better.

The original is better to me. I love the Stylistics, they should be in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. I do like the part Prince credits them by talking about "The words of another, who is truly in love, will do just fine". I like Prince's version just not better than the original.

princes version is wonderful but almost too perfect. I haven't heard the original.

Obviously Sananda would have done a better Job.

P's version of that song will always be special to me because it came out right before I found out I was pregnant with my first born. I remember sitting on the table humming it and when the nurse turned around she said " Its positive". Thats how I found out I was going to be a mommy for the first time...

I musth honestly say i have never heard the original by The Stylistics.

But anyone agrees with me that Princes cover version has splendid background vocals by himself?

I mean, he proves again he is a master when it comes to delivering gorgous background vocals.

Prince ruined that song with all those super high pitched notes. I mean he's all over the place vocally

The original song sounds smooth and perfect.

I just hate the way he sings the first line of the second verse
