No I dont care because it's NOT all of a sudden. Believe the starving artist if you want but he made mad loot pimping his music & talents to the public & passing it off as The Revolution/NPG, The Time, Vanity 6, Appolonia 6 & all the other artists that he wrote, produced, picked out outfits & hairdos, etc. for... it was all about the money & ain't nothing changed except he's making it known that now he's putting it on blast that it's all about him again. Less folks on the payroll = more money for him.

this thread is just another shining example how Prince fans are simply delusional and only see what they choose to see, willfully ignoring contradictory facts that oppose their own false views. even when Prince "freed" himself from WB under the guise of artistic control, what did he talk about most because so -- being number one at the bank, or how he made more selling 250,000 copies of Crystal Ball than 16 million of Purple Rain.

you guys really do live in your own fantasy lands. try joining us back here in reality, the view isn't as perfect but the truth will set you free.
this message brought to you by logic.

No doubt...the man has earned everything that comes his way.

It's just that lately, he's done some things that I thought I would
never see from him...ie Pricey Vegas shows, Hiring out for Birthday Parties

what's this about being hired out for a birthday party? I haven't heard anything about that.

I think some people think that it's their money in that man's pocket.
Then I think some other people are waking up from a dreamy alternate reality wherein Prince does not care about money.

I didn't have to think long and hard about that one, so I must assume you could have come up with that all on your own. So the point of your post is what?
We have literally dozens of songs glorifying money, lots of interviews of the man saying how much he loves it and how awesome he is for having some. Yet we're not allowed to talk about it? Funny!

I'm trying 2 see the POINT of talking about it. Everyone in the entertainment business wants 2 get paid. Don't they?

Of course Graycap23. I want to get payed and I'm not even in the entertainment bussiness (altho all bussiness is show bussiness). In my mind there's nothing wrong with making a few bucks. Still I'm not surprised that it changes some people's perception of Prince, now that he seems to be in the position he was dreaming himself into for all those years.
And really, what's the point of talking about anything at all. There's people in this forum right now talking about Prince's shoes... there is no point to that other than the exchange of comments itself. This thread is no different.

Anyway. Good on Prince for cashing in.
My personal problem with some of the get-rich-quick schemes is that they involve some amount of jumping through hoops for us.
I don't want no fan-filled boats, no perfume, no champagne glasses with chocolate handles ... I want music and good seats and am willing to pay for those. Keep the rest.

Not at all. A lot of his best music came when he cared about money. And, really, even late 1990s until reently, even though he likes to portray himself as an elder statesman, more philosophical and spiritual, and above the din of music consumerism, fact is he still always wanted to make money. He's just being more honest.

It's all about makin' money now, right?
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Comparatively speaking...lol
What mattered most to him when he was younger wasn't money, but the music.
There are countless ways that a genious music maker like Prince could have made more cash through the years...but, all of a sudden...
