Thanks Joe! Can't wait to hear if there's any mention of Morris? Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife. More info at https://www.facebook.com/TMATSPodcast/

I'm not sure that he owns the rights to "The Time." I knew he owned the publishing rights for a lot of the material. But I don't think Prince had anything to do with the making of Pandemonium back in 1990. The Family is reportedly recording a new CD as well. I suppose Prince isn't going to be involved in that either.

Tori said they all are pumped about this including Morris. Pick up Tori's CD for the great songs with his own band and the MPLS cats who rock it MPLS funk-style. Plus, Angelo from Fishbone is on the record. Minneapolis Music Month in March on the

Some of the tracks were outtakes (Data Bank, Donald Trump Black Version, etc) that were started before the group disbanded in 84. Now, I'm not saying that P did the whole album (because Jam and Lewis, Monte, Jesse, etc. all contributed tracks), but your statement was not completely true. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Prince does control use of the name The Time. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I'm with you. It was the players that made the group: Prince (aka Jamie Starr), Morris, Jesse, Montie, Jimmy and Terry.

Squirrel is right... the last TIME album ended up being a Morris Day album. About 10 years back a new album called Old Dogs, New Tricks was talked about.... I'll believe all of the "new Time album" rumours when I see an album in my hand. I would love Prince to be involved but I'd still buy it because I love Morrises funky style!!! what band isn't working on an indie release for this year?
whether it sees the light of day is another story if the live shows were an indication of anything new that would be telling as well

They can't record a new CD or tour under the moniker without his permission. Also, they've had a new CD "in the can" for over 4-5 years. Not sure if this is going to be the same thing, but it's been completed forever, and yes, Prince does play on it. If it breaks when it bends, you better not put it in.

I think you're referring to their unreleased album 'Old Dogs,New Tricks' which was recorded in 1997.It's rumored that Prince and Lenny Kravitz both contributed to this project.I know that Jam and Lewis were also involved,to a lesser extent. Here's the tracklist: THE TIME 'OLD DOGS,NEW TRICKS' Cowgirl Style Who Says A Funk Band Can't Play Rock? Shake It Baby Old Dogs,New Tricks Player's Quiz North Side,South side,Suburbs And That's What Time It Is In the late 90s,different release dates came and went, but the album was never released.
