It's a great album! But like most it falls over in the 2nd half. Jughead is Crap! Live 4 Love pick it back up again! cool

Jughead is crappy somewhat I guess but it was supposed to be a message song to his manager I think so it serves its purpose. It and Walk Don't Walk and Maybe Push would be my pick for 3 weakest tracks but I think the rest of it is so good it makes up for it. I mean you have Live 4 Love, Cream, Diamonds and Pearls and the club staple jam Get Off all on one cd. Those are a pretty good foursome of tracks.

biggrin biggrin I don't play it totally all the way through but I can guarantee you there's probably more than one of those for most people at this point.

was just listening to D&P on the way to work, and I thought I would be patient and not skip over the tracks I normally skip over, ie Cream, D&P, Jughead, Push and they aint too bad. The bassline in jughead is rather funky, and the beat.. well its the housequake beat isnt it??

Strollin, Willing and Able, Walk dont Walk as a threesome of songs really impress me now, you have to be in the mood, but when you are, that trilogy is really soulful and acoustic, really free music. You have to be in a dance mood to hear gett off, and i wasnt i guess so i skipped over it. I actually prefer Violet the organ grinder to gett off, i reckon they shouldve put THAT in the album..

Cream, I couldnt help thinking how much like T-Rex that song was, and how big a hit it was. I guess its not a popular Prince song.. but I remember the video and the remixes, and that song is a real classic when I think of the past....

The end is great, Ive always loved Live for Love, but completely forgot about Insatiable! What an awesome ballad, probably up there with his all time best..

This morning it was an album I almost forgot, but when I finished it, it reminded me of the good times in the past and musically its one of his most interesting and diverse. If you compare it to 3121 and musicology, I think it wins hands down on all fronts..

Loves me some D's & P's!

I was fairly new to collecting Prince at the time and the excitement surrounding that album was beyond belief.

Well, it was better than the Graffiti Bridge album, I suppose.

The best song to come out of that whole D&P project was Violet The Organ Grinder.
