Will "3121" - THE FRAGRANCE, Be A Hit???

Now; I just checked out the web site for the company which created the fragrance "3121" - I consider myself a bit of a connoisseur when it come to both men's and women's fragrances - but I'm sorry to say, I haven't heard of any of the stuff that they have previously produced. Not to mention all these fragrances are VERY inexpensive. No one is saying you have to pay $100 an ounce to get something good; but with fragrances you usually get what you pay for (considering the cost of the actual ingredients required to create the scent). I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this venture for Prince; but I have a feeling 3121 is gonna be Funky - and not in a good way.

LOL yeah, I really think they should pass some sort of law that when a celebrity issues a fragrance, they must commit to personally wearing it exclusively for a period of no less than one year.

It will probably be a horrible perfume but a great collector's item smile
It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

If it smells good and is market right, yes.
Hopefully he'll write a track like Venus de Milo for it. And though I'm starting to get used to the Twins, I hope he doesn't use them in the commercial, if they do one.

if he does a commercial i think the twins will most definitely be in it, not that thats a good thing or a bad thing for that matter. i think they are more of a distraction than attraction but thats only my 2 cents.

O.K. they can be in it. You know the blurry image behind the product shot? They can do that.

If you see them as a distraction, many others will. When you have 15 to 30 seconds to convey the essence of a product, the last thing you want is a distraction. You want something/someone that "every woman" can connect with.

Maybe if it were Prince at a piano...and the twins in the distance dancing and/or in silhouette...and it were marketed as the scent for his ideal woman...

yeah but even with that ad for the guitar song to have them whirling around everywhere was a bit much. i don't know when P will grow bored of them but it couldn't happen soon enough for me

O.K. I gave it some thought. If they use FX and the Twins are used for something like this, (as scent becomes woman) only without it being dark and sinister (and without the nudity), then it's acceptable. Otherwise, No. And that's final.

I actually like them in the Guitar ad. When they try to do sexy, it's like a little girls imitating MTV Videos, so it's not offensive and it's safe enough for the commercial world.

Yeah i didn't like it. I'm bored already with them. I still think they are cute, but they are fastly becoming a novelty.

That's why I never buy perfume as a gift. Everyone has different tastes.
I'll probably buy a bottle and if I don't like it, give it to my daughter. Pachoulli reminds me of birkenstocks.....and hairy armpits...
biggrin
I can't get the association out of my system.
Pachouille is a scent you either love it or hate it. Should have labeled the perfume "Controversey".

It would've been better if he started a clothing line sad

But the scent doesn't go out of season. With a clothes line, once the season is over, the pieces usually depreciate...and there's always a new line to do. It's very expensive. He just needs to stay with this 'til it catches on. If the scent isn't bad, he can make it work. Once the right Perfume critic likes it and/or the right people are wearing it, then all those that weren't too sure about it, will suddenly think it's the hot scent to wear. After he gains confidence in this product, it will be easier to branch into the others...if he even wants to.
