Oh my lord!!!! This reminds me of an interview with Britney Spears, where she says her 2 favorite songs are Kiss by Prince, and Nothing Compares to You by Sinead O'Connor. When the interviewer told her that Prince wrote that one too, Britney said, "Really? I didn't know that! I just love that guy!"

lol

This really isn't a big deal... Yeah, it was incorrect, but the song was released so long ago it's essentially in the dark ages for today's media - the fact Prince never had a hit with it or a single released for it doesn't help matters.

It happens... if someone bothers to write them they should remember to be respectful. I've seen people on this forum think Prince wrote "A Case Of You", for example... lol

Did I say they weren't great? No.

But are they good enough to have written either of the Prince songs they covered? No.

Years ago I had an argument with my room mate at school because he reckoned that Kiss was originally Tom Jones' and that Prince covered it. I kept trying to tell him what was up. He wasn't having any of it. I had the Parade song book at hand and showed him the writing credit and then he tried to tell me it was because Prince had bought the rights. At that point I gave up and went to bed.

Someone needs to let the showbiz.sky know that althought she sang the song, they need to know that Prince wrote and sang the song. I hate that when they think that the other artist is the one that did the song first.

Didn't Sinead release her version of NCTY before Prince?
First The Family's version was released.
Then Sinead's version.
Then Prince released a live version on The Hits.
Yes No?

This is quite funny (to me).

As I suggest above, I went ahead and msg'd the website about their error.

I just got a reply via email back from them thanking me in pointing out their error and stating they quickly corrected it - get this...

they spelled my name wrong in the greeting

lol eek razz

Well you did your job.... They did make the correction ... It now reads

Highlights of the show were his classic Kiss and an amazing rendition of Nothing Compares

OMG, this happened to me too at a party, I had no chance to convince the guy that P. did this in 1985/86 and Jones afterwards and that P. writes his own stuff whereas Tom Jones is not a composer etc.
He knew better so I left it at that.
Cool, you the had same bad experience. I am not alone!
