I have to be in a certain mood to get into it... but at one time, I thought they worked. The only downside of Come is that after hearing it, u listen 2 the outtakes (on TGE) and wish they were a part of it... kinda takes away from my former fav. album. You'd totally change your mind about the Come/Endorphinmachine combo if you heard it. In fact I'm pretty sure they were originally recorded together that way, in the same way that Christopher Tracy's Parade and New Position were on the Parade album. It's worth noting that the version of Come that segues into Endorphinmachine is totally different to the long released version. Endorphinmachine itself is slightly different as well, and sounds a lot rawer. (no cowbell, sirens or extra keyboards). that version of Come is the best. my favorite, anyway. I think it could be, technically, one of his best ever tracks. The level of detail and work that went in to it, real concentration. That track is a masterpiece.
And anyone who says that album is shit, or 'filler' needs their ears testing. Well, I like the song, but in the end it sounds like he is licking your ear. And then I'm like: Stop licking my ear Prince! [Edited 5/30/07 13:29pm] oh yeah, you mean the Pussy eating?!

I also really like the version from 'The Beautiful Experience' film, totally different to the album version, but pretty cool.

It bloody well is a masterpeice. P's whole 1993-1998 period is so and foolishly underated. http://www.goldiesparade.co.uk/ - Prince discography, tour history, news and more.

Endorphinmachine itself is slightly different as well, and sounds a lot rawer. (no cowbell, sirens or extra keyboards). It's all pretty confusing really... but then again, it was a crazy time for ... maybe that's why his name had no pronouncation... cuz if it did, it'd be even crazier than the "switching of tracks" between the albums. Sure, I would like to hear earlier versions of the tracks and see how they work into the TGE tracks originally slated 4 Come... but that's not what the thread is about. It's about the album. I listened 2 it last night... Come & Space are usually hits with me. I was kinda bored with them this time because that's not "the Prince" I wanted to hear from. Come is a cool album because if you really listen 2 it, it has so many different parts of his personality that it kinda makes my head spin, but in a good way. The Space-Pheromone transition, I've had a little trouble with. Ever since I listened to TGE after getting Come, I've wanted to put Shh after Space to complete the triology of "gentle sex" Prince... although one could argue whether or not he was gentle in "Come" in some parts. But I listened 2 it last night and the seque b4 Pheromone starts actually finishes that section of the album really well. It blew my mind. I really got into Pheromone & Looose!. And I lost myself in Dark cuz I was making sure I was listening 2 it... Solo definitiely makes me sad towards the end, though... talk about personal. Letitgo sounds like he's starting a new beginning for himself... Wow... the album just blows me away now. And all of the songs are great. I feel like I have to listen thru the whole thing each time cuz they work so well together. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

"Space" is soooo sensual. Puts me in the mood everytime. The voice, the tempo....hell, I'd screw anything listening to that song.

absolutely. It's the kind of thing u can easily get yourself lost in. And I think Prince is pretty much the only artist I listen to (and I doubt there's anyone else) who has that effect on me when I listen to his stuff. In fact, I prefer it that way. I like getting lost in his material. Come is a great album for that, but you can really chill with it. No joke. And we all need to really chill once in a while. And at the same time, it really makes you think. Prince seems like he was rushing to get everything off his chest b4 "dying" and changing his name. That's a lot of stuff... but brilliant stuff at that. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone
