For God's sake Prince is NOT gay. I am gay and I can tell you my gaydar doesn't move at all when it concerns Prince.
He loves women too much!
Like all men i am sure he has maybe had an experience but the man definatly doesn't like cock.

I just read Alex Hahns book again, and have decided am no longer crazy about Prince, now just I mildly like his music.
Why?

1. He hasn't had any real hits since 1994
2. His loudmouthed hypocritical views on religion
3. His basic denial of coming out (Marrying bimboes)
4. His music has become self indulgent
5. Hes lost touch with the people of today (I mean this is a guy who will pray and spout the words of jehovah, yet he sings songs about graphic sexual intercourse)
6. He treats his fans, associates and family like shit.

Oh sure lynch me and all, but I am sorry Prince I am now an ex fan

I completely understand your decision, being a Prince fan has been a frustrating experience over the last decade. But, as has been mentioned, your reasons just don't make sense.

No hits since '94 - You judge a musician on "hits"? I guess that makes Britney Spears a musical genius. Chart success depends on how much money a record company puts into marketing the formulaic slop it pumps out, it has nothing to do with musical merit whatsoever.

Hypocritical views on religion - Religion and hypocrisy are inseparable. Religion is hypocrisy with stained glass windows. I've yet to meet a reigious person who wasn't a hypocrite to some extent.

Denying coming out - I don't even knows what that means.

His music has become self indulgent - I'd say tha opposite is the case. He's become far too focussed on current trends and on trying to recreate his past successes. I wish he would return to the self indulgence of the 80s and early 90s andjust make music to please himself.

Lost touch with the people of today - I wish it were true. The people of today suck....I'd pay to lose touch with them.

He treats his fans, associates and family like shit - I have a friend who refuses to listen to music made by anyone who treats other people like shit. He's just made it into the guiness book of records for possessing the world's smallest CD collection.

Dude you are the funniest mf on this website!! you had me rolling AND you are right on point

Why would you think that Prince had an "experience" like all men? Sorry, I don't think that all men "experiement" with the same sex? If a man or woman does experiment, I consider that being gay.Last week on Tyra Bank's show a young lady was saying that EVERYBODY experiments and that it is normal to do that. Tyra looked at her and said:"I'm 'old school' and everybody doesn't do that and it is not something that is just accepted as 'normal'". What I'm saying is that IF Prince had really been with a man(which I don't believe that he has), then wouldn't that make him gay? FTR, I agree with you, I don't think that Prince is gay. He has a lot of feminine characteristics, but I don't think that he is gay.

After reading this it reminds me of the old NPGMC forums .....dont speak ill of Prince or all hell breaks loose .......

I know this is not directed toward me. Look at my posts... I don't drink the purple koolaid. I would have been banned so quickly, that I didn't even bother joining that club until I thought he was going to bring Tamar's tour to Detroit.

I am just saying... if you don't like something.... move on... don't waste web space putting yourself in the center of attention and stamp your feet and whine that you are through with Prince. Just be through already!

Okay move on .....

Having fem qualities doesn't make you gay. Not all gay men have fem qualities about them. So thats very ignorant and one sided to think that all men who are gay are fem or are fem in some ways or even wants or fantasizes about being a woman.
Not all gay men want to try on a dress or played with barbie dolls as a child or even wants to be a hairdresser.

Thats ludacris, even as a gay male, I don't think Prince is gay. He wears high heel boots and eyeliner, plus he has better hair styles than most females. Doesn't make him homosexual. Not once has he ever stated he was homosexual. He may have played around with the bi-sexual concept, but who didn't in the rock and pop world back in the 80's an era of make up and hair bands.

It doesn't make you gay. If you are a male who has experimented with another male, doesn't make you gay either, because most girls experiment because their curious and thats all it is. You may be turned on a bit, but if it doesn't tickle your fancy, then your not gay at all! If you try it and like it and stick with it...because you come to find thats what you really are attracted too, then you would be considered homosexual.

So ppl lets not make the man gay if he's not, he's nearly 50 years old and I truly believe if he is gay, we'd all know about it, especially after all these years. Just because his marriages didn't work out, doesn't mean he needs a man or is hiding the fact that he's gay, alot of heterosexual men and women go throught multiple relationships, let alone marriages! He just haven't met the right woman. She's out there...but he has to be patient and thats what he'd doing now, just taking this time to heal from it and move on with his life.

Prince is not gay!

You say you are an "ex-fan", but you also say you mildly like his music . . . which is it?

If you don't like his music, don't buy it - but don't not buy it because you don't like the man.

It's his life, and he is not living it for you. He is a paid entertainer, period. I doubt that you will be as stubborn when the new CD comes out. Your curiosity will force you to listen to the album.

Alright, after thinking about it, I respect Tane's idea. To me, it makes sense.

1- You can like his music without being a fan. There are many songs I like without even knowing who sings it.
2- You can still have a membership on prince.org without having to be crazy about Prince. There is a wonderful community in here.
3- Why do some of you have to hate anyone who says one little negative thing about Prince. Haven't you heard of constructive feedback? Does Prince really have to be perfect? I really question how obsessive some fans in here can be, it's scary at times.
4- At least, some people say what they think and not just what others want to hear. It's good to state a perspective as long as it's justified. What's wrong with that???

What's wrong you ask??? This thread is clearly

That's what's wrong.

It's kinda suspect when the original poster starts a thread and doesn't participate.

Maybe he went a little too deep indeed but at least he said what he really thinks of him wether we like it or not. I actually like to hear what one really feels about Prince instead of thinking he's perfect. It's all about how you present the point.

Valid commentary on Prince is always interesting even when it isn't particularly complementary and trust me, through the years Prince has done a few things I was not amused by.

However, I genuinely believe this guy is just yanking our chain with this thread. shrug
